I have had this sinceJuly 21st, so its been a long time. Also some information, After I opened it, I was rolled or booted from the server. When I relogged, I reopened my Holo and it said master swordsman, so if this was a bug, and it may have been, I dont know. I am still going to master this incase it was not a bug. Can I have a voting box in my PA and get votes that way?
Supposedly politician is not a legitimate profession to be required ---follow link below --- so you should contact a CSR and try to get it changed.Maybe the Correspondent is mistaken and you really do have to master this, but maybe you can be spared and, in so doing, let everyone else know they do not have to follow the path of doom.

If it turns out that you must master politician, I would suggest that you master as many professions in the meantime as you can while you're racking up politician experience. Eventually your holos will go silent and you'll have to guess at your profession, so you might as well start "guessing" early.
What happens after you Master Politician, and your next Holocron says you have to Master Bounty Hunter?
You're barely able to have Novice Politician left if that happens, and all city perks will have been removed since you no longer have the required skills.
The added info about the boot and then getting Swordsman should hopefully indicate the initial message was in error. If not, some people are seriously never getting their Jedi.
If I were you I would probably do it just in case too, you can even just train Novice for a few weeks and not waste the SP on anything else yet because for Politician the xp-cap is 200,000.
(Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)
Good luck, andplease let us know if it actually turns out to be one of your Holo-professions or not.
I just had a thought..
A lot of people have, since the City Publish, gotten the "You now apply for Novice Politician" system message displayed on their screen at (seemingly) random intervals. Even if you don't have the 500ap points required you can still get this message.
I'm just considering the following could have happened:
- You clickthe Holocron
- Expect to see the profession you have to master
- Get the "You now apply for Novice Politician" message
- Get booted
- Scream in agony because of boot
- Scream in agony because you think you have to master Politician
- You log back on
- Due to lag/boot, as far as the server is concerned you never used the Holocron
-Usethe Holocron, and see the accurate profession you have to master
Ok, it might be a long shot, but it's possible right?
