Thread: Holo siad Politician
"how are you screwed? get novice politician, and stockpile the XP, no need to train skills, don't you have friends/pa? my god, I know 3 mayors of diff cities besides my own, and this is from before they went polo"
How do you expect him or her to stockpile XP, First off, hope that he is in a city that the current mayor will let him take over (fat chance, but maybe). Ok, buy a City Hall and find enough friends to keep it from going poof.
I have a lvl 4 city and will not see master for a few months.
Stockpile, LOL, for the next year.

do you ppl have no friends? maybe i'm lucky, but if i needed to master polo, i know a few guys who would step down, because either way the city gets advanced, i swear, i'm the most popular guy in the world on my server, but the ppl i do know, i trust dearly, and they do the same, this is not a impossible task

The point is not whether they CAN become a mayor or not, the point is that when they do, it will not be a "grindfest". They are going to have to wait MONTHS to get Master.
I don't think the question was answer.. was this char created before or AFTER player cities pulish?
**edit**....I was hoping I would get Master Politician but got Master Chef......Good luck to ya...it will take a few months.
Not sure who suggested in this thread that the holocron thingis a bunch of bs but Ive been thinking the same thing......Just my opinion but I think the DEVS are sitting back and laughing over everyone chasing these things....
Happy Holidays.
With a quick calculation, I put in 50 members as a start.
100 P. EXP per person per week(assuming you get all the votes)= 5000 political exp a week. The political tree looks a bit like this:
10000 10000 10000 10000
| | | |
5000 5000 5000 5000
| | | |
2500 2500 2500 2500
|| ||
1000 1000 1000 1000
So the first week you will get all four of the bottom skills with 1200 political exp left over including the two people above 50. Nice and easy. Keeping with it, the next week you will get 5000 again. This will cover two of those on the next higher part of the skill tree at 2500 apeice. I'd suggest getting one more person so that combined with last weeks extra 1200 and this weeks extra 1200 plus that next person will give you another 2500 total so that you can tack on another peice to the tree, bringing you to having the bottom skills and three of the second to the bottom. Sadly, after this is mostly just a waiting game. A week for each of those 5000 ones and two weeks for each of the 10k ones.
This means with getting every vote and your population does not decrease, you need to wait at LEAST 13 weeks to get it or 3 months and one week.
Sucks to be you if I may say...

Not exactly. Can he fit 50 houses into the 150m radius of an outpost to get that much xp? I don't think he can, so that will add more time...at least a week, maybe more.
It is not impossible, however since a good number of mayors seem to be kill happy it won't be easy. Since you plan on starting your own city then good, but still 3 months as opposed to 3 weeks or less...fate must have it out for you. I'd invite you to my city but we don't really have that much space to get all 50 of those guys in the radius right now on top of the near 20 we have for a few weeks, well maybe next upgrade I haven't really checked out the area that much. Plus I want to be the leader in our urban renewal ![]()
If you are willing to wait 4 months instead of 3 and a half, find a nice spot as opposed to just flat terrain allowing for maximum useable area, might as well look nice. I would write to a CSR however since this is potentially an impossible profession to master and it should have been taken out of the holocron powers. Your FSCS would of course be more then enough compensation for this little bug![]()

13 weeks is 3 months, not 3 months and 1 week. 1 month does not equal 4 weeks. 1 month is 30/31 days (except February) and 4 weeks = 28 days. 1 year =12 months = 52 weeks. 1/4 year = 3 months = 13 weeks.
But what you didn't account for is that the city doesn't update every seven days. It updates every seven days and 5 hours on average from my experience. My city was set down at 3 PM on a Thursday. This next update will happen around 5 AM on Saturday morning. The downtime really adds up!
