Thread: Meet your new politician correspondent, take two!
This is directed at the ones of you who feel Bajeezus should not be here, or has an offensive name.
He has been around this game longer than 3 years, at least as far as I can remember. he has always been a rabid player advocate and if I remember right, can't quote since the old forums are gone
, he was a staunch supporter of player cities and bases. Just because he has not posted here, with the Bajeezus name, doesn't mean he has not been around. He has as much if not more Politician skill than a lot of people in this form, so he is not just "playing" poltician.
The name Bajeezus is the name he has been posting with ever since he started posting on the SWG forums. I am sorry if you feel it is offencive, I personally feel relieved that one of the old "heel biters" is in a correspondent position.
I think some of you folks should take a few steps away from the PC and realize this is a game, our leisure time and just chill out.
Now I will do the exact same thing...

*sighs* I hate to say this, but I'm afraid I'm starting to swing as well . . . Baj, I like you, I really do. But in Thunderheart's own words, you're "uninvolved". Unless you've been posting here under a second account, I really can't see how you deserve the position more than the others who must have applied for it who have been here on the Politician forums since Day 1. You might have been here since 2000, but this class is only a couple of months old, and that's the time frame that matters here.
Of course,I'm not saying this becauseI'm upset at you, not in the slightest, or jealous (you couldn't pay me enough to deal with TH any more). It's not your fault. There's just a lot of people here who deserved it much more because of what they do here, and face it, we know why you got it. It wasn't for the right reasons, which is a terrible thing to say about someone I know could do a great job at it, but its the truth. The Corro should have been picked from the crowd here who has busted their tail trying to make this a better profession, not someone that most of these people have never heard of before, who they don't even have any proof that you've even looked at the forum since the class came to be.

Welcome Bajeezus. As you can see, tough crowd. But, as in all things, action and not words is what counts. So if by your actions you convey our words to the devs and the devs words to us in a timely manner, then you've got my vote of confidence. 
I know correspondents can't do much more than that.
Concerning the name...yes SOE has COMPLETELY screwed the pooch on their standards. But I find nothing wrong with Bajeezus. Is it in the bible somewhere? I've never heard it as a swear word, (and I grew up around a WWII Navy Vet for a grandfather - I've heard nearly all of them).
Lighten up already. Go thump your bible somewhere else, Star Wars and SWG on its face is blasphemous by your standards so what are you doing here?

I think you miss the pointI dont care if he has been here 2 months or 2 years. What I care about is the fact that he hasn't been a part of "our community". Now when I say "our", I mean that I have yet to see him post on ANY issue regarding Politician since it was introduced. Now all of a sudden he is speaking for us? I would find that very weird, but I can't.. since he is a old dear friend of TH.

I am truely sorry that you find Bajeezus lacking, I also find that it seems to be a very petty issue. I do not want, nor intend to get into a flame war on Baj's welcome thread, however, I think something that needs to be pointed out to everyone is that one, he is already a politician, closing in on master as a matter of fact. He was picked not only on his reputation, but because he has a deep appreciation for the game and has the best interests of the players at heart.
I want to appologize to Bajeezus for this even being in his welcome thread.
If people will give him a chance, they will see that he can and will do right by the players. For those who wanted the corrospondant job and didn't get it, I am sorry, but hopefully you will continue to support and do everything you can to bring to light, any adverse things you find within the profession. And to continue to lend your weight behind pushing for changes for the better of the class.
If Bajeezus doesn't do a good job, then based on your own track records, you will be the next in line.
Please lets work together and not split the class into camps.

I honestly took it for granted that Baj was given the spot due to his pre-release reputation and because he knows TH.
But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sure, he's never posted here before, but that doesn't mean anything really.He may know the profession inside out. He may have the skills, abilites, xp costs and city levels additions memorized. Maybe he eats, sleeps, and dreams politician. You just don't know.
Simply because he doesn't post on the boards doesn't mean he isn't fit for the spot. He could've been in-game playing all this time instead of spending hours posting on these boards. In that sense, he'd be closer to the majority of politicians then any of us...
Give him a chance. Y'might learn something.

You are 100% correct. But that's kind of the point . . . if he didn't know TH, would he have gotten it? I don't remember what it was from, but there is a movie or TV show or someting, maybe a commercial, where someone asks "but what have you done LATELY?" What has he done since the inception of the Politician class that shows he would make a good Correspondent to anyone other than those he plays the game with?
This isn't a slam against Baj. I've got nothing but respect for the guy, I know he's going to do an incredible job. Does he deserve it? Yes. But he didn't get it the right way, which is sad.

No, he didn't get the job 'the right way'.
Most Corres are chosen from their respective boards and, for the most part, are chosen due to their activity on said boards coupled with their knowledge and love for whichever profession they wish to represent.
Baj seemed to have skipped a step somewhere along the line. Is it wrong? Probably. Is it unfair to those here who deserved a shot at it? Definately.
But, currently, the only question that truly concerns me is this... Will he do a good job? I'd have to answer yes to that, and in doing so I will overlook the obvious impropriety of his elevation to Correspondant in hopes that he will exceed my expectations.
Should he fail...well...then we let loose the barrage towards Mr. Player Voice himself...
