Someone said it in another post and I tend to agree with them. A city makes or breaks with the citizens they have in it. Our city is neither in a prime location nor faction oriented. But we have a nice group of folks. One thing about humans, we tend to overcome even the highest hurdles

"You assume to much" Sargus
Actually thats true IRL...however, in a world with no consequences, no barriers...and no incentives...and no "real" relationships...you expect this to be a constant?
Don't think so...wish so...but it's not so
Just another reality in the MMO world I'm afraid.

Well an updatefrom me on this front...and just a little more insight into the challenges for player cities.
Sabacc has rebuilt it's city and is thriving again about to hit Rank 4. Now the question is ... how did we do this?
Well first...it wasn't 'trade' (thank the maker!)
Second, as was discussed many times before ... you adapt to new realities within the game...and this is basically what we did. Now I'm not going to discuss the details here (sorry) ... but if you've been out to the new Sabacc you likely know the dynamics behind the reconstruction of the city.
A few things that have contributed the success are tied to our long-standing history and reputation on the server; along withold friends joining our new 'mission' and old guild folks returning in anticipation of JTL etc. But the overall 'mission' of the city has attracted alot of new friends without whom the growth to date would not have been possible.
But in all I have been surprised at the speed of the rebuild. I still stand by my contentions that the Dev's are stackging the deck against player cities...and leave player cities with 'few' avenues to incent players to spend extended periods of time within the cities. And no just dropping in to buy goods or drop goods off in your house doesnt count as extended periods of time
Anyways, I posted this today just to highlight and maybe give hope to the Mayors' out there ... that growth is still possible...focus on 'playstyles' and cater to that if you can. Frankly, location is everything and in some casesit's just not possible or practical to accomodate some playstyles on some planets. But its' hope...no matter how slim
Cheers
