This is seriously a problem to many people, regardless of faction affiliation. We just don't want to grief people who come into our city to cause trouble, either RP/factional or otherwise, period. I think its a lot more fair to everyone involved if we have a clear, non-combat way of saying "you're not welcome", ie. actual, effective /cityban from buildings and services.

This isn't something just the mayors want, this is the entire city talking here. Those of us speaking as mayors are doing so on behalf of our citizens. It's our JOB. It's not about a Mayor trying to have a private city, its about a city being able to protect itself from the people that they don't want there, by making it more difficult for them to be there in general. That's ALL citizens wanting that, not an individual placing themselves on a pedistal. For some people that may be factionally motivated, for others it may be keeping the asswipe spouting profanities at the dancers in the cantina from hopping back into town easily every time he clones.

Like I asked the Devs before, imagine these boards were your city. Now imagine that all warning a poster did was give them a 5 second time out, no matter what. Now add to that the inability to ban someone from the boards at all. What would this community be like? Since you DO have these commands, do you use them for the good of the community, most often at the WILL of the community, or do you use them just because you like feeling good about yourselves? (No remarks from the peanut gallery, please. ) Please keep your answers in mind when thinking about whether these options should be extended to us.

i dont think they shoud even have faction scanners in cities. If a city is IMP there will be no rebel recruitere for him to go overt so he would be similiar to nuetral.

Not an option, coverts can still attack Imperial NPCs at our nearby bases and they can go to the many rebel missions abandoned by Imperials, and go overt there, and in a sense they could plan a whole assult like this. Also as our city is the center of alot of Imperial Activity, it would be no wonder if they sent coverts to keep tabs on what is going on, so that prehaps they can plan an attack at a certain time.

As stated above the best solution IMO is that players have a new option, the option to clone to the nearest NPC cloning center, and also to keep trouble makers out, banning someone should keep them from using the cloning center period. Now these I believe are not to much to ask for, because it is solving a problem of greifers and trouble makers in cities.

I lay down every brick in our city (being the only master architecT) I feel a sense of "ownership" granted once I transfer it is not mine (i.e. not on my lot) but I still feel I have a part in that creation.. spired rock is my creation.. yes.. I love it..

I will protect it with all my power if I can... and will hope it will last if I should ever leave it....
