The first post was made a year ago... why hasn't this been changed yet? I figured my city wasn't the only one where the mayor dropped politician and moved out. Now we're stuck with an inactive majority and no way to change. The city is stagnant and doomed to a wasting, lingering death unless the mayor can resign.
Is this idea even on the table?

My city has switched mayors a few times and it was a pain to switch with people who forgot to vote voting for the incumbant. This would be a great feature.

I've had this problem TWICE. I became mayor of a city whose mayor quit the game. It took us 2 WEEKS of annoying the Hades out of people to get them to vote for me. In the meantime, the city kept deteriorating. It took getting enough NEW citizens to counter the default votes of the people that weren't logging on to vote.
Well, Tat became a dead planet and a town on Dant wanted me, so I had to do the whole thing over again. So yes, a hardy

We had a very similiar issue in our city whenI wanted to take the position; our Mayor wasn't inactive but all of the "voters" were.
