the word from the bosslady (Tiggs): "Condemned houses will stay until the time that the Character/House Purge system kicks in and clears out houses of inactive characters and cancelled accounts." no word on when the purge will be (I made sure to ask)Well, that seems to resolve our study before it even got going!
Thanks for the info Pappi.
So I guess it would be safe to say that when people post asking when a house in their city will decay, the answer is 6 months or more. This seems to make it pretty clear houses dont poof. After all, the house has to be out of money to be condemned, so she is saying that a house with no maint will be condemned and will stay till the purge clears them.
Perhaps Pappi could make a sticky on this topic with Tiggs quote or toss it in the FAQ? I know the issue has come up in a number of posts just this week alone.
I'll ask Khristen to add it onto the FAQ

If they did the purge it would expose in a very dramatic way how many players have actually quit the game, & this would not look good to potential players. And, they would have less bait to try to get previous players to come back with.
the implementation of the new one sounds promising (although I wish they would also consider it for inactive chars of active accounts), it's just a matter of *when* they'll implement it. I'm not holding my breath either, but I can always hope

I rather imagine that they are going to at least waitpastthe revamp so guys will feel like its worthwhile coming back for the CURB.

If that's the case (and it probably is), couldn't they have waited until after the CU to implement the new maintenance changes. It's created quite a headache for mayors who are short on space in their cities and need theold houses to go bye-bye. I mean, if the purge fixes it all... then cool. But, why make us suffer for 4 or 5 months (or longer knowing our luck) waiting for it???

That sounds realistic. I'm still willing to wait & see. I would like to try building the city I designed on the mapmaker app someday... by the look of things I may end up being able to make it on TC first, hehe.

So SOE has a chance to recapture past players who know they can come back without losing most of their previous property.

the new method wouldn't cause that problem (and it seems better since folks won't waste credits on keeping the houses up if they've been gone then decides to come back), it's just a matter of when they'll put it in
