Thread: To poof or not to poof, this is the question!
I never found out the specifics of the "condemned" houses implementation, so I'll email in or post on the corr forum and ask about this. I'll also try again on the purge timeline question.
I can add this too, I recently had some wind harvesters become condemed (they are on a 2nd account, and I had forgot about them). The account is active however (and paid up) so the harvesters just sat their with the 'condemed message' up until I came along with the ton that dropped them and paid the back fees.
I also verified the mail (and man do condemed structures generate a LOT of spam, especially when you have 6 of them)
It cost about 9.9k each to un-condem each harvester (BER8 Wind Generators). These were out in the wild so no back taxes collection applied to them.
I did verify that a non-owner admin cannot access the structure, only actuall account holders toon can uncondem (so if you are doing upkeep on someone elses house dont let the maintenance slip or you are locked out)
I have my eye on one house that has become condemed, as I know the owner no longer plays and I know approx. when the house became condemed (it went to that status approx, 3 weeks ago from today). I dont know if the account is paid up or not, as that seems to be a key factor on deciding what will poof now and what wont. If it poofs Ill post when it does.
But in my own case, those harvs had been in condemed state for at least 3 weeks and showed no signs of POOF'ing nor did I receive any email to my account saying the structure would implode (though the mails do hint that structure destruction could be a possibility)
Ill post the text of the automated mails later.
Bold added to draw attention. While this is not a CSR posting this, it is supposedly what a CSR said, and even the name of the CSR is given. I thought I would add it to our list of info here in this post to keep in mind while doing our study.

"eventually"

"eventually"
it's even worse than "soon" (tm)

I will if I get a chance to

Well, that seems to resolve our study before it even got going! ![]()
Thanks for the info Pappi.
So I guess it would be safe to say that when people post asking when a house in their city will decay, the answer is 6 months or more. This seems to make it pretty clear houses dont poof. After all, the house has to be out of money to be condemned, so she is saying that a house with no maint will be condemned and will stay tillthe purge clears them.
PerhapsPappi could make a sticky on this topic with Tiggs quote or toss it in the FAQ? I know the issue has come up in a number of posts just this week alone.
