guys Pc does not stand for player city. some of u are using it as that (well maybe one im not sure). think if npc stands for non-player charecter than pc standss for.... thats right player charecter. Its old from DnD the RPG (not those computer dnd games) who started it all.

Yes that is true, but in the context of this board and conversations that entail cities and politicians, PC is normally taken to mean player city, and NPC as a non player city city. Outside of it then you'd probably get things muddied up and confused. It'd be the same as saying I got a BS degree to a professor. Will he assume I meant bull**edit** or bachelor in science?

And removing buffs means that doctors will make money doing what doctors do. Heal, rez, and depoisonsince docs are invaluable on high end missions and PvP encounters. Same as how a majority of macrotainers make their money. But that's a discussion for other boards.

Biggest problem with player cities is it really took interaction out of the game. When the game first started, at least on Flurry, you could find the Rebels in Anchorhead and the Imps in Bestine and we'd spend hours running back and forth "invading" those cities. Now, if you find 10 people between Bestine and Anchorhead it's a lot.

Now I'd be willing to bet that hologrinding hasa lot to do with this too, but that's a whole 'nother board!

Actually it added interraction.

Player cities allowed the palyer base to condense in a place they built and enjoy. There are raids between player cities, plenty of interraction.

Now the interraction in NPC cities is dead. But that is because unlike NPC cities player cities have content (player generated) that is far and above whats in NPC cities. Thats why they took off in the first place. People would not be spending their money this way if there was no content. And you see that those cities that do not have content quickly dissapear.

So player cities are as good as we make them

jollyemu wroteKay i'll define my problem. Player cities are only fun for a few people the politician and other people who run cantinas and med centers. They clutter up the planets and take away population from other REAL cities. It also makes traveling too easy by having shuttle ports everywhere. Not to mention PC's are UGLY as all hell.

Actually, I think the Politician Profession is just as fun as anyother. I can't say, Player Cities benefits cantinas and med centres at all. Matter of fact, most often you won't find them busy at all and certainly not AFK'n meeting places like in NPC's.

Players complained about the travelling so shuttle times were reduced to 5 min. I haven't heard players complain that travel is too easy - nor that there were too many shuttleports.

I find NPC's full of AFK'n players, overpopulated LAG - spamming Starports and the same NPC's staitic quests pretty UGLY myself.
