Thread: Player City Changes on TC Publish 19
The medium house footprints and artwork have not changed. They just changed the collision factor where they joint together. So basically they still look like a solid mass, but you canpass right through the middle of them.
So no need to panic about city plans shifting all over the place. ![]()

Uzziel...I understand your--and everyone elses--frustration about the bugs in the system and the priority schedule. I'm not a stranger to the growing pains and bugs the game has gone through; I've been around since the second week (would have been on launch day if it hadn't sold out everywhere here) and played around with more professions than I can remember. I've walked from one end of the planet to another and remember what it was like when there were no masters.
Are there things broken? Most certainly. Are those things destroying certain professions and keeping them from playing as intended? Very much so.
The thing we all have to remember is that they have to set priorities based on the overall health of the game. This doesn't have to be a "X profession is more broken than Y" discussion. The fact is, though, that there are some professions that simply cannot be played as intended right now although all of them have some areas that fall into that category. What the dev team has to do is sort through all those broken areas and determine which ones are having the most affect on the game as a whole. They may fix things that seem small and unimportant before "bigger" bugs, depending on the difficulty to code and whether they know the exact thing that is broken (which is harder than most of us might think). They have to do this and keep bringing new content into the game at the same time.
This isn't meant as a "defender of the devs" post or a "so-and-so is more screwed up than we are" post. It's just the way it is, whether we as players agree with it or not. As I've said before, I'd love to be able to delete the bug thread and say it was all fixed. The simple fact of the matter is that, even if every one of those bugs was perfectly reproducable, there are things more vital to the overall health of the game that need to come first.
We can help the process, though, by reporting bugs with those vital repro steps in-game as often as we encounter them. The forum bug threads are fine...until they start turning into flame wars and discussions on why someone hates one of the changes. When they stop becoming the bug thread and turn into a second discussion thread, the information can get lost. Post it on the forums, but also /bug it in-game. They *have* to be able to reproduce it, though. Even if you don't know how to reproduce it yourself, throw in every tidbit of information whether it seems relevant or not. It's easy to say bug reports get ignored, but more often than not those bug reports simply don't have the information needed to actually fix the bug.
I always try to look at things with the "glass is half-full mentality", yes, in-game but mainly in RL. It doesn't do any good to do otherwise. If you focus only on the negative, you simpy cannot enjoy what positive things there are. It's not an easy mindset change...believe me, it took me a long time...but there is only so much that can be done in a certain amount of time. You can't move a mountain in a day, but you can make a start one rock at a time. It may not be much progress, but you get more accomplished by accepting that the rocks need to be moved and making do with what you havethan you do by standing there screaming at the mountain.

I still haven't found anyone who's elections are actually broke yet....So far all the ones I've seen are simply a miscalculation of the election end date. If you have more information on it, please provide it in the stickied thread about elections.
We've been asking for this fix for a long time. This essentially fixes the /cityban command to working as intended. While we may want it to do more, at least it will be *working*.
Player Cities are not top priority right now, and there are professions in much worse shape than us. This may only be one fix out of many possible fixes, but it's one more than we had last publish. Maybe this is just a "band-aid", but at least it takes care of one of our scrapes.
I would love to be able to delete the bug thread in our stickies and say it's all fixed. Realistically, though, those fixes aren't going to come overnight. They're going to take time and documentation and /bug reporting by us. It's like the old saying....How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
I can agree to this one as I am a Master Ch and a Master RifleWoman, and I'll tell you what.
These two profession have been nerfed so badly that I can't even stand to play them. Makes me sick to my stomach...
That's why I play Mayor lol. it's sort of relaxing, kind of cool, and something that takes a lot of paitence... However, I hope at some point the devs DO fix ALL the professions, instead of Nerfing the crap out of us all and FIX the broken items. ![]()
They can compensate us by giving us UNLIMITTED SPACE!!! ![]()
sorry It's 4:25 in the morning and I'm so knackered I'm going cross-eyed. ![]()
I'll let you know the elections are bugged, because mine comming up due soon. ![]()
OH btw...how many lamps can we place when I get my first box trained??? Thanks.

What about mission terminal bug, that lists all missions at cap of CL55 on some planets like Rori? I guess this is game breaking and IMO top priority.

Player Structures
- Fixed an issue where players were able to stick naboo medium style 1 house right up against each.
this part is so lame, these houses when placed in rows, long or short look very nice together, about the closest thing we have a Neighborhood appearence. I Know some people use these to creat Base Areas, but damage is done. Not only that but you can still do this whith generic houses as well. The only thing this will do is cause furutre cities and strictues to look less organized and less like a city.
IMO we need to have small footprints on structures to allow a tighter packed area that looks more like a small city then a cluter of buildings.
The footprint has not changed. The patch note is just poorly worded.
You can still place these houses like always, but people can now walk or drive between them.

Is there a Med. Style 2 that I should know about? j/k
All joking aside, I too am glad to hear that it's just a collision fix as opposed to a "shift" in location. That would really make a mess of what is already in need of some small repairs and fixes...

Keep at 'em!
PS I'll hop on TC if you still need someone to ban.
