Just create a chat channel for your city. It's not very hard.

Been there done that... Do you have any idea of the stability of these channels? When no one is online, the disappear and have to be recreated often. The tabs for the players disappear, players have to subscribe to the chat channel each time they log in, etc. etc...

We tried creating macros to ease a lot of this for the citizens a long time ago.

It is NOT a solution...

was going to PM this to DianaPrince but it was too long so I'm putting it down here and I'd welcome any help of making this mess of a writing into some idea stated clearly

--Giving player cities the right to become minor factions--

For example,my city is named Lost Haven. As an outpost,as soon as I start it,I should be given 5 low CL NPCs with the clothing and race limits I set as the mayor. They will have a 10-20 times instant respawn rate to serve the purposes I will mention below but after this respawn has expired it will take an hour before new NPCs spawn.

They will be named, for example,a Lost Haven guard/a Lost Haven brawler/a Lost Haven rifleman etc. and will patrol the city, attack spawns at the city borders and defend the city againts any enemy players that choose to come in(enemy players will be mentioned below). At all times a city will have 5 NPCs at a CL range respective to the rank of the city.A rank 4 Metropolis would have max 100 CL npcs for instance(if the city is a stronghold )

So,eventually, each city will have a faction with the name of the city and this will become a mini game.More specific player-faction wars without the forced PvP of guild wars(although I admit I have never been in a guild war and do not know anything about it and might be mistaken about my statement here)

I will give my city as example here and consider it a rank 4 metropolis--

Considering the size of a rank 4 metropolis,a mayor will have the chance to 'recruit' minor faction NPCs for the city.Recruiting them will work similar to recruiting skil ltrainers. But I will have to pay for the weekly upkeep of these NPCs in advance and they will have their spawn throughout the week(which is 10-20 times instant respawn as soon as they die and 1 hour timer for the next respawn after this instant respawn has been expired).A rank 4 metropolis will be able to have up to 50 NPCs scattered around the city.To prevent in-city grinding of outsiders the respawn rate could be inreased after the instant respawn has been expired, thus eliminating the element of exploiting lol

When a player outsider to my city gains enough negative faction points to my city, they will become attackable to the members of my city as soon as they step inside the city but will not be allowed to initiate the combat. This will prevent invasion of city faction enemies.

Additionally,tailors,armorsmiths,weaponsmiths,bio-engineers,doctors and JEDI/DARK JEDI could be given the option to improve the faction NPCs of a city in many ways to add individuality to each player faction in the game. But to prevent creating all powerful Force trained city NPCs for example, these improvements would be costing ALOT of money, citizens with similar skills and effort.Plus, these improvements will have to be chosen at the begining with improvement-rankings that can be achived through the work of citizens with requred skills/profs.And only a single improvement type will be available at a time, thus forcing the city to surrender all NPC improvements and start on a new type all over again. This would also prevent creating all powerful NPCs.Also, each improvement will have its own benefits and drawbacks and none will surpass the other thus preventing something similar to the 'composite clones' pre-cu.

There are many details I've prolly missed...this is open for discussion and sorry that I'm posting this here but I thought it'd be better to make this into a clearer form before it is made into a thread itself...any discussion on this is welcome, thank you

I love the first part of your idea, the recruitment of what amounts to a npc city army. I have always liked the idea. But i doubt it will be created. This was discussed long ago when cities first went live.

When cities frist went live the player militiamen could target another player and put him on temporary enemy flag and the other player militia could attack him to encourage his leaving the city. But the powers that be decided it opened too much exploitation and greifing. So now, there is no way to "police" your communities.

Very good idea though imo.

Thanks man...I wish DEVs actually looked into this forum...only one they look at is the BH forums so they can nerf Jedi and boost BH...the rest of the game, they are not even aware what's happening there
