Thread: Nominations and volunteers for Politician Correspondent: Unofficial...
hajihill wrote:I am interested in the Politician Correspondent position.
I have 1 year of experience administrating an online forum/community, 4 years of real-world software development experience, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Lastly, I have a lot of ideas about what could be done to allow cities to better administrate themselves, and a strong desire to make better tools available (in and out of game) for mayors and SWG communities.
( I have refrained from asking supporters to come into this thread or forum and voice support. Iwish my actions, devotion and contributions to be weighedon thier own, however for references please checkwww.swg-elysium.comto view an example of my service record, I have been admin there for over a year.)

I support him. But I do wonder about not being on TC if that hurts the profession or not.

you make it sound like I'm controlling your mind O.o thanks though
edit: I haven't asked any of these (kind) people to come and vote for me, most of them found the thread before I did o.O I'm extremely flattered to have your support though, the positive responses I'm getting is just as good, if not better than getting the position itself

*shhh*!
and where have you been?
I'll toss my name into the fray.
I am not sure how the "masses" here will or will not accept me, but I do know the challenges of running one of the first cities on Flurry (New Freeport) and I've posted here before with many ideas including the /cityignore proposal.
I have been in game from July 2nd of 2003 so I certainly know the game well. I additionally have the experience of over 20 years of development background (Enterprise Software) so I understand very well the trade-offs involved in various proposals. I am a CEO of a software company and manage programmers while balancing the need to "run the business". Additionally I not only play a politician in the game but I am one in real life.
(local politics). So I certainly understand well the issues of working and negotiating the best result for all parties involved.
Again I might not be instantly recognized by "the masses" but, perhaps TH is looking for something else. I imagine the goal is to find someone who can communicate effectively and keep the conduit open between the players and the developer community. This is something I would be very comfortable facilitating. My goal would be to work hard on communication and trying to keep the flow of ideas and issues clear and concise.
Thank You for your consideration.

I'll wait until the formal process starts.
I was thinking Hajihill but having been to Elysium I wasn't that impressed (sorry, no offence but it was just so spread out, took ages to find anything and the place seemed empty to me as a result - though I didnt think 2 shuttleports was possible until I saw it with my own eyes).
I've since been to a few other cities around the place and hope to visit more of those of the Mayors that post in here frequently. Its good to see folks putting into practice what they preach ![]()

I nominate Ralph Nader.
Vader-Nader... Write in... too many jokes.. pick the one you like, blame Texxie for the rest.
I'd nominate Pappi, but she hasn't paid me yet...

Screw that man, vote Curly for Correspondent.![]()
I have to throw my support/measly little 1 vote behind Pappi. New Unity looks great, and while admittedly she is the second mayor she seems to be very active with the political role and keeping the city working. Plus she's on TC with a rank 5 city so that is a big plus for testing add on's.
