Den of Iniquity, Tatooine; Scylla

Work on the casino continues - I am really looking forward to when this opens. My architect has been simply amazing with everything he's done for me and the city, and he's an AMAZING decorator. (His shop in STC is simply AWESOME) In conjunction with the opening of the casino I'll be starting a regular weekly tournament with multiple skill brackets ... wish me luck on that.

I'm still working on quest creation. Being an RP city and trying to balance keep us over the 55 with my eye to metropolis is a challenge. Ideally, I'd like houses around the city that can be entered only if they are fully decorated. I want to preserve my original idea of creating a player city to be a roleplaying stage, so that things have detail and feel like the NPC cities. I have to say it's a lot less chaotic than any of the NPC towns on Tatooine, and most anywhere.

And the biggest news, tonight they are working on finishing programming the server so I will be this week starting on our website and forums!!! I can't tell you how excited I am about this. I will be posting a link to that as soon as it's mildly presentable.

For some reason, not sure why, I'm feeling less discouraged than last week. I think it's because even though I struggle a lot, there are so many people that just drift into town off the shuttleport seeking me out to get a short chance to roleplay the character they created. That's why I built the town, and even though spending a half hour in character with a complete stranger doesn't help make the money I need to keep the city and my own personal properties going, it's why I play the game.Being constantly on the verge of 0 is just fine.

Some doorknob planted thier hous infron of the city hall and hasn't responded to my request to have it moved.

No bulldozer so I might just errect the good ole street light barricade and play a waiting game.

You can get into a lot of trouble from the CSRs (including banning) for doing this tactic, as it is considered griefing to deny someone access to their own home.

As long as the person can still get into their house, you're ok, but if you place the lights in such a way as they can't, you could be in deep trouble.

Good luck with getting them to move!

The past week has been an exciting time for Alya'Starn. We had a merchant consortium move from Tatooine, bringing a small group of people with them. They found a large enough spot to build a new market area and have placed a shop in our existing Mesa Square. Nowi and myself worked with them for some time helping set things up and all of us seem very happy with the arrangement.

reporting on behalf of Arrick Skordalia, mayor of New Republic City, Tatooine, Starsider

due to the relocation of my group of friends, I have offered my resignation to the citizens of New Republic City, however I will continue to assist them in any way I can until such time as I am no longer mayor.

regretfully, I have no way of actually informing the citizens of this, other than emailing each and every one of them individually, as the "citizens" option that should be available to mayors has never worked for me since I took office and in spite of filing 3 CSR tickets on the matter.

this problem will soon be a moot point, as over the past 2 weeks, at 2 publicly held meetings in the New Republic City city hall, the active citizens of our community have recognized the futility of attempting to elect a new mayor to replace me. the proportion of "absentee citizens" has reached the point that, frankly, I'm astounded I was elected in the first place.

as such, the sole remaining guild in NRC has decided to relocate to Rori and start a new city. all who might be interested in joining them should get in touch with the leaders of the Art of War guild, Sable, Jyle, O'phe and Akyi to make any needed arrangements. in the interum, with the consent of the citizens present at the meetings, all city decorations that I could find have been removed. the shuttleport, garage and bank terminal remain in place for the time being, to facilitate those wishing to move.

it is with some sadness that I have to announce that, as soon as arrangements can be made to fully withdraw the treasury funds for transfer to the new city, that the remaining city structures will be removed and the city hall destroyed. with the limitation of 50k per day on withdrawals this could take over a month to accomplish, but I have requested assistance from the CSRs to transfer the funds **crosses fingers**

Rest in Peace, New Republic City.

Long Live the Rebellion!

Arrick Skordalia, Mayor, New Republic City, Tatooine, Starsider.
