Wow, you can tell they really sat down and tried to answer your questions honestly. Hope they didn't waste too much time trying to appease the customers. I love how one of the answers is an exact cut and paste answer
Totally agree. Tsk tsk, devs.

Wow -- what a dismissal. They essentially tabled this profession. What a sad development.
Oh well....I guess Ill just go back to enjoying the profession as we, the player-politicians, have made it -- bugs and omissions and oversights included. When will they realize that it is the Mayors of this game that are on the front lines of the customer service effort. We work every day to make our citizens happy in-game. Heck -- my city now has a paypal fund to send citizens flowers when they are in the hospital or sick or their house got broken into or any of a myriad of other things. Heck we replaced an x-box for one gentleman's children after his house was broken into and all his childrens toys stolen (bastards!). We have grown into so much more than SWG ever thought we would. All of our growth has come DESPITE the developers best efforts to ignore this profession.
Pappi, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Cheers!

This Week in Aurora
05/04/2005
General News:
Aurora is a great Rebel metropolis on Naboo. Though the planet is overrun with Imperially aligned players, Aurora remains a sanctuary for Rebel players with over 90% of our community aligned towards the Rebel cause. More and more of Aurora is joiing the fight every night. This effort has been lead by the very active PA's that work daily to make Aurora an asset to the Rebel Alliance. New GCW assets will be placed in the future and we are always looking to liberate the planet of Naboo from the Imperial grip.
Aurora is very pleased to have the Avengers of Alderaanjoin the city! The city looks forward to fun adventures and exciting parties with this group of nice people as they move in to Aurora and establish their own unique neighboorhood in our community. From PA hall to houses, gardens and street lamps the neighborhood of the Avengers of Alderaan player association is becoming a driving force in our community. Welcome to Aurora friends!
Building an online community is a difficult thing to do, and to do it correctly is almost impossible. To help the community of Aurora grow to meet the demands of its citizens the city has surveyed those nice people that choose to call Aurora their online home. We use the results from these surveys to develop new events and ways to make our citizens enjoy their limited online time. Here is yet another peek at one aspect of why Aurora is a great community.
We have recently sent out our 3rd Aurora Citizen survey. We ask questions about each citizen's play style and what they do in real life when not playing SWG -- etc. This helps us get to know the people we play with every night.
The full report of our second survey can be found here:

City Mall and Merchants:
Aurora is a zero sales tax city. This means lower prices on every item on the vendors in Aurora. Stop by and check out what the 20+ vendors are selling.
The Aurora mall offers high quality products, at low prices and is only a 1 minute ride from Moenia, or a quick shuttle trip through the Aurora Shuttle port. Located in a cantina just a few meters from the shuttle port, the Aurora mall is a great destination for every player on our server. The vendors are restocked every few days and the city is seeing a steady stream of customers to our citizen's vendors. Around the mall are several merchent tents where more crafters have set up shop and are selling up-to-date merchandise. There are also several stores scattered throughout our community where people can access such great vendors as Gesna's tailor shop or Rebel Yell Combat Arms!
City Finances:
With the new tax structure in place the city is earning approximately 50,000 credits per day. The city continues to remove our 22 gardens every week, immediately prior to the maintenance cycle. This reduces the maintenance costs substantially, enabling us to keep our taxes reasonable.
The city has recently received a cash infusion from one of our more outstanding citizens, Balanor from Rebel Yell Combat Arms. His several hundred thousand credit donation is much apprecitated and will go a long ways to making Aurora a fantastic player-run city. Thanks to everyone that has dontated moneis to the city treasury. People like Balanor help make this a great community.
City Governance:
The city has recently completed another re-alignment ofsome ofthe major thoroughfare through town. With the mainboulevard to the city hall finally cleared of houses we have placed a veyr nice looking colonnade of small Naboo gazeebo gardens. This makes the entrance to our city very nice indeed. The city council has recently been re-reformed to include the new PA's and several new citizens who have taken on responsibilities for parts of our great community. We plan to meet as soon as possible.
Galactic Civil War
PVE Battlefield --
Aurora is considering a project to re-establish a Rebel vs. Imperial battlefield north of our city. The previous battlefield lasted longer than we had expected, mostly due to both Rebel and Imperial Pa's recognizing its value to all players on the server. Unfortunately -- some Imperially aligned players took it upon themselves to destroy three of the Rebel PvE bases which had been placed. The city was forced to remove the Imperial bases to sustain parity. This is a clear example of a minority attempting to ruin the fun for others.
PVP Battlefield --
Aurora plans to place substantial PvP assets, as soon as the CU changes settledown and we understand how we can best defend the Rebel assets we place.
City Event Guide:
Finally, several guilds are continuing to run weekly hunts out of Aurora. BOTD and E-Den have standard hunting nights and all folks are welcome to join them. Check out the discussion groups at www.swgbotd.com and www.enforcers-guild.com for more information. If anyone in Aurora has an event they would like to advertise, please send an in-game email to Hadrian, Obeci or Yabu.Looking for a commuinty to call home?
For those friends that are thinking about moving to Aurora, check out our website at SWGAurora.com (note no WWW). You will find information the city's business initiatives, finances, the various PA's living in town and the charter that serves as the foundation for the community.
That is about all that is happening this week in our great community.

And in Subsolaris Chasma,TC news... well... theres none there for the 4th (5th?) week in a row. But we will be trying to get off to a fast start once (if) the server comes back up post EP3. Should tick for rank 3!
*wanders around like a crazy man talking about how he used to be a mayor of a city on a planet in a galaxy that doesn't exist*
Update...
Test Center Came Back
Subsolaris Chasma was still standing with 17hours until next tick
Thanks to a few brave soles who drove their toons of various CLs across the hot sands of Lok for the 10k drive each way I managed to squeek in enough residents to go up to rank three and promptly placed the city n the map. Was a good day for the city, only hampered by the lack of double XP on TC which left me 50XP away from training my next politician box and placing a cloning center.
Ah well, theres always next week!
Pushing for a shuttle is next, hopefully it'll just be 2 or 3 weeks and then its time to start running some real good hunting parties and hacing some real fun!
