Thread: Um....Baj? I'm not sure this is a good idea on TC...

Exitio,
That is a different issue. There are tons of structures all over, mostly harvestors, that are owned by cancelled accounts.
I see your point if all your buildable land is taken up. At least you are still getting property tax.
I can see how this will be a problem for some folks.
Three wekks is too short:
- Vacations
- Travel for work (Not all of us are office guys, I travel often and can be away for work for more than three weeks.)
- Unexpected accidents (Family death having you travel to place of your parents, road accident, whatever).
I am for this idea because of the dummy citizens that certain cities have. However this will also affect real player cities full of actual people because of the shortness of the time. The limit needs to be a month, preferably longer just in case. Seeing how I don't expect this to affect me or at least not affect me too terribly much I'd say that a month is fine but there are some people that would have qualms about that being too short as well.
And as I said earlier there should be a timer of how long you are actually on. If someone can just hop onto their alt char then disconnect and get right back to playing and not have to worry for a few weeks the system is pointless. Again however they shouldn't make it too long to restrict and force casual players to schedule play time just for that purpose.
I'm not happy about this.. we have one particular case that is a "live" player.. but he's very sporatic. Even with the 6 week (current number) grace period, we would have lost this guy.. since he'd suffered a system crash (and we had no way of knowing)..
And how does one define "log in" ? To the game? To their account? To the individual server where the structures are? This hasn't been set out even in proposal.
I can see how this would combat the "ghost town syndrome" .. but IMO there's too much vagueness here .. and it would penalize "vacationers" or *very* casual players..
..some people play daily.. but can't always be checking on their alts, especially if they're immersed in their main for a period of time.. so does this mean a player alt would poof if the player didn't budget his/her time between servers? I don't think this would be right...
