Our city, Mos Coran on Lowca, hasn't used the "walls" but I wish we had realized it when we were designing our city several weeks before the City patch went live. I see no problem with the use of them as it can help channel people to certain areas (to venders). With enough peeps you could make kinda a maze like city and could add some fun to the game. Even used protecting bases (which we don't have) I don't see as an issue since there still has to be a way in and out. Mines and turrets are continually defeated so I don't see why this is a big issues unless I've missed a post. Changing the footprint will mess up the look of many cities.

Got a hold of some exotic gardens, and I was very excited to place them. However I had two large gardens to place, and our fair city isn't exactly geographically perfect for garden placement. I managed to find spots however, but was very disapointed with the placement of the last one when I discovered that it was half covered by a sand dune. Oops. No problem right? Just re-deed it? That's what I thought too. Then I realized that the sand dune also covered the garden terminal. D'oh!
Were you able to redeed it? If not, I believe you can use "/target terminal" to target the terminal closest to you (the garden's)...then /destroy structure or whatever that command is.
Hope that helps!

We made it to village status at the end of last week, got the bank down. Waiting on our entertainer to get to the point of being able to put the cantina down, but that's not a big rush.Haven't really done anything with the layout or decorations etc, you don't get that much space at level 2. Put down a couple of statues that's about it.
With the patch I did manage to fix a problem I was having with not being able to email the citizens. If you recall, I couldn't send citizen emails because I suspected (rightly) that it was due to me still being a citizen of my old city. With the patch I was able to revoke my citizenship at the old city and I was immediately able to send citizen emails.
My one continuing gripe is that gardens should flatten and merge with the terrain like camps do, but you know, that's a cosmetic thing so its fairly low down the list of priorities.
All in all, everything's going along good.
Regarding house walls, we're using Tatooine style houses and they don't lend themselves to house walls, so no we don't use them. I did use them in my other city though for cosmetic reasons (it blocked the view of the factories that were immediately behind the wall). Never used them in a defensive/offensive role though.
