/sign!!! BUT WHOS GONNA LISTEN TO ME

Even Star Wars movies dont like NGE....

Yoda: Twisted by the Dark Side, young SWG has become. The game we played, gone it is... Consumed by the NGE.
Mace Windu(us): The customers will decide SWG's fate.
Supreme Chancellor(Devs): I *am* the customers!
Tiggs wrote: NGE is here to stay.
C-3PO: [walking away] I feel so helpless.
"And so it is" said Bail Organa as he left.
So this is how liberty is crushed...... by the sound of Tiggs Paws.
"NGE your breaking my heart!" Cries Amidala

I'll miss being a TK

I oppose the NGE and support Holocron Shug and Q-3p0's dream of the way SWG should be!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, ?How can we do this and not make another EQ?? We didn?t want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we?ve created a system to make that happen."

I am quite happy to do this. In order for a city to succeed there needs to be a dedicated person in charge of it - someone willing to put the city before their own desires, someone willing to put their whole career on hold for the duration of their time as mayor.

It is just that those people are few and far between. It wouldn't be so bad if there was an actual way of resigning, but changing mayors in large cities is done very bad right now. The duration of time they are mayor could be forever. Its sad to see this profession basically turn into a profession you give to a 2nd account.

The bonus of having a shuttleport is great and all, but once you have it, the mayor is basically wasting skill points. Each skill usually has some uses, but those things are only done a few times at most. Then the skill becomes a skill point drain.

Who is forcing you to become a Politician? If you don't want to give up the points don't - let someone else be mayor or don't start in the first place! There are plenty of people out there who want do it!

I agree with the Duke, if you're not seeing politician as being worth your points then either don't invest in it, or drop it and be the uber fighter/craftsperson/etc that sparks your interest. I will agree that there is a somewhat limited use for the skills granted and would very much like to see more politician content, but for now I am quite willing to 'sacrifice' skill points so I can be mayor (assuming I please the masses of course). One day we'll get some lovin' and all will be well.

I picked up novice politician and worked hard to get enough votes to overtake the incumbent.. we had 85 people voting. Anyways - not a single one wanted to be a politician. I'm giving up my combat skills for it, and now will just be a master doctor/politician and then dabble in a basic profession.

I agree with making it less skill points, You still need to have it take some. I had to drop master artisan and now i cannot get a good combat prof. I am already a master Weaponsmith, but I will never drop that!! Worked to damn hard for that. This would be an easy fix and hopefully will be done soon!!

I think it is simple - if you don't want to do this profession, don't.

Politician is no less of a profession than any other - and in a MMORPG community-based professions like this are important. Merchant is equally important in some respects. I run one of the biggest cities in the galaxy (nearly 150 genuine citizens), and without a team of people with these different skills it would be impossible.

Nobody is forced to do it - if you want to live in a city, but don't want to train the profession, then join someone else's.

With the Space Expansion, there are a whole range of additional professions mooted to be built on Politician. I, for one, cannot wait.

This is an MMORPG - people are meant to have fairly firm roles but work as part of a team to fulfil all of their requirements.

As time goes on, expect to see the Devs release a whole new range of professions that force people into either tighter roles to prevent the ridiculous 'one man army' situation that sometimes affects this game.

The planned Defence Stacking caps will discourage people from mixing professions purely to benefit themselves, and th Devs are planning on doing more things like this.

To suggest that someone should be able to be a Master Merchant, Master Politician, Master Bounty Hunter and Medic (which your proposal would make possible) would turn this into a one person RPG - it is not, and was never intended to be a one-person oriented game.

Saying put up with it or leave is not a helpful answer dude. 77 Skillpoints for something as limited as Politician is not reasonable. As mayors we are already sacrificing a lot of time and often money to doing this job, the high skillpoints drain is simple an unnecessary burden. Making Politician equivelant to an elite skill would be far more reasonable all round.

It is already hard enough to have some cities survive because everyone wants their own city... If anyone could be mayor it would be way worse. I disagree.

how about evryone and there mom not try to make there own city?

how about the politions or politions wanabe's run for office in an alreay existing city?

how about...if you dont want to spend skill points ....you dont take the class?

how about if you dont like the way the profession is.....you make sugestion on improving it rather than take this easy no-creative way out...so you dont have to work or earn it?

how about you look at what you can do with the skills now....?

how about you start acting like a leader of a community insted of a civial servent? politions sole job isnt to place things and walk away...there about making a community!...you people that want to have it all and complaion that ..."its not worth the skill" for one...make me sick....for two...you must have the most boring citys ever made.....no love....no vision...no passion for making a better plcae for people to gather and grow...

ITS NOT ABOUT THE SKILLS!

the skills are lame....they are one time use abilities....POLITION DOES NOT = "skill boxes"

it would be nice to have better skill boxes and skills dont get me wrong...

hummm...lets see.....broken profession should = no skill points.....ok then...lets use that logic....

pikemen = noskill points (THE MOST BROKEN UN LOVE PROFESSION IN THE GAME)

carbiner = no skill points...

DROID ENGY = NO SKILL POINTS.....mutch more worthy of your logic...

Go to some of the Non Player Cities across the Galaxy...

If you say to yourself "DAMN! I'm pissed I can't do this in MY city!" then Politician is for you...

If all you care about is being uber, go play commando or Bh.

Damn, why cant you guys get the hang of a simple fact, most of us do not support this idea because we want to be 'uber' or because we dont care about our cities! If I didnt care about my city then as a newbie player with novice architect I wouldnt have dedicated every resource I had into building a town, giving free houses, doing all the city structures for free and so on. For the first month of architect I sold exactly ZERO buildings because everything was going into the town. Im happy to spend a mass of my time and most of my resources on the place, what I object to is also having 77 skillpoints taken away as well for the privilege! Politician cannot be compared to so-called 'broken' professions, its a whole different ballpark and unless you have a better argument against this proposal than 'You make me sick' then you might want to rethink your debating points a little. There is simply not one single coherent argument I have yet seen on this forum for why politician should not be reclassified as an elite level 63 skillpoint profession. Feel free to provide some.
