I do not have a salary, but I also have steadfastly refused to fund the city out of my own pocket We probably could afford a salaried mayor if we needed too, but I have found that my status as a "businessman" is very much at an advantage being a mayor and I can make money through normal business practices easier than ever.

One of my main goals is to build a city that can stand on its own and doesn't need to be subsidised. All these cities that run tax free, and even give kickbacks to gain citizens kind of baffle me.

I don't get a salary either but quite frankly wouldn't care if I do or not. I am a millionaire and make quite a lot of money with my sells. Sure a salary would be nice but I won't forcefully take out from the maintenance. I have put a lot of money into the coffers, but I don't mind. It is all for the best right?

I asked for, and was voted in a salary by our city council. Most of my civic duties take up the time it takes to earn decent cred as a medic or dancer. I hate begging for money from our town millionaires. Having a weekly salary so that I can pay maintenance on a personal house, or buy a new outfit, or buy more med supplies to keep the millionaires alive when they are out fighting...

Train of though? What train of thought?

My weekly salary is 50k a week. But I've lost track of what is personal money, city money, and new citizen welcome packages awhile ago. Shh, don't tell my citizens that, they still think I'm mostly infalliable. Or at least that is what they keep telling me to keep me doing the job of mayor.

I keep having this suspicion that as long as they have a city when they next log on, they don't much care what I do with the money.

Well, the vote on my message boards shows 50-75k per week. No one has voted or stated that the mayor should get nothing.

I understand that there are wealthy players who sinkmillions of creditsand resources into their cities...I just don't happen to be one of them.

In a sense, it's a more specialized version of what doctors and entertainers go through - many of them do a job and are not financially compensated for it. (yes, the XP will eventually earn me my Master Politician badge. I understand and appreciate that very much)

I think the mayor should get paid, but it should be paid by SOE! Just a weekly credit to my ingame account. You could register your city and by doing so, you get paid to waste your skill points. You get a pay raise by growing your city. 50k per week at lvl 1, 100k per at lvl 2 and so on. hmmmm I wonder... naaa never happen lol

No Salary here either. Have dumped tons of credits in maintenance and donated many buildings to the city to get it started. When we get settled in and a nice cushion in the coffers, maybe I'll see if anyone minds paying me a salary to keep my ore harvestors going and powered but until then as mayor I have to do what needs to be done to keep the city going and developing. Long term I think it will come back to me ten fold
