I recently posted in our cities forums, requesting a salary for my mayoral duties, to help compensate for the skill points set aside for the city.

So that got me curious...if you are a mayor, do you currently draw a salary? If yes, how much?

For everyone else, do you feel it's an appropriate thing for a mayor to be paid for his job?

I don't get paid.

I get paid with adoration and smiles and well wishes from the wonderful citizens of my city. Boy am I being ripped off. I sure could use an intern. Anyone seen my cigar?

And no, I don't collect a salary, I have put millions of my own moneyinto the city coffers...

No salary the city is a labor of love. I have donated every structure, statue, fountain, garden to the city as well. Plus the cash I put in, I am probably into the city for 2-3 million credits.

I think a few cities may be willing to pay to have a mayor who is willing to sacrifice skill points. Whats another 50-100k per week on top of 500k maintenance?

Our mayor draws no salary. He's a puppet / slave of the people. We keep him locked up in the city hall until we need him, then pull him out, make him dance and put him back. j/k

We have a few wealthy citizens who have donated money and structures to the city. If the mayor needs anything, he need only to ask.

Apart from the few millions missing in our treasury I don't get a salary ...

I still make money through a couple of harvesters and dumping it on the bazaar .. can't wait for the cap to be raised to 6k ... double income

I'm actually in reaonable financial shape - I have around 800k in cash and quite a bit in assets. But since I'm starting to phase out my merchants (as I'm concentrating on other things) it occured to me that the only other income would be running missions. And I spend a great deal of time in town now...sure I could run missions from there, but it would be nice to get a salary that would basically cover my weekly expenses (maintaince on my structures, travelling, the occasional hooker..er, I meandancer and the like)

No one in our guild wanted to be a Politician, so I hired a Politician from another city.

I pay him 50k per week, and he comes every week after election to take care of placing of items, and any administration issues he must take care of for us.

I dont get any pay, but I get free buffs, clothes and other stuff I might need. And that is not req for citizen they do it for the like the town and the mayor.
