I hope so, Granted My city may be one to loose rank, but we can certianly get more in if needed. I just want all the dead houses out so I can rebild in a much more organized fashion.

I've stressed the importance of fixing that bug/exploit before the purge. Otherwise I'm afraid it will just be expanded on by the players in order to keep dead cities alive.

While I'm still trying to get a confirmation about whether this is a precursor to the structure purge, I do recommend doing what you can to get prepared now. Look at your citizen lists, find out who is supposed to be there and who isn't. Keep a record of who is active and who isn't (using a bank tip of 1 credit is a good way to find out when someone logs in next), and ask for CSR assistance to remove non-citizens from the Citizenship List. Find out what your true numbers are *now* rather than after the purge.

They have said that they would be informing people well in advance, and that there may be a grace-period for Player Cities to rebuilt lost citizens. I wouldn't count on it. Better to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

I've been trying to get CSR's to help me on my ghosted citizens issue for a very, very long time and they tell me they can't do anything. I really wish that they would though since this would give me an even more accurate idea of what's going to happen.

Currently I have 3 citizens that were "deleted" months ago but yet still citizens - and approx 20-25 of the "dual citizenship" citizens. I've tried countless times to get those that are dual citizens to come revoke their citizenship but of course taking that extra 2 minutes to wander over to city hall and simply click on stupid button is asking too much. I also have 1 citizen that was apparently perma-banned months ago that still has a GH using up our city land.... i'm prepared for the purge as are my citizens but i must say the lack of customer service ig really disappoints me.

It may be that they don't have a way to do it. That could be another part of the reason that the "Revoke Citizenship" option was put in.

If you have to, keep a hand-written/typed report of your citizens then with a more accurate count than what city hall tells you. Share that with your citizens so they understand what's going on as well. I'm sure anxieties will start popping up once the purge becomes closer to a reality.

I cannot wait. City purge will really help clean the game out. The not just for the player cities but the houses that cover the 1K radius of Theed and Cnet. Less houses in the way of going places.

Well, the whole idea of a "grace period" makes me upset. I have been waiting for months to get a shuttleport while ghost cities have been sitting on theirssince theCU and some forabout a year. If I meet the citizenship requirements NOW(by now, I mean at the purge)and they don't, why should they recieve a grace period so my city can sit back and wait some more? Doesn't make sense to me.

I hope there is no grace period. The newer and growing cities need to have their chance to have something that older and dead cities have been holding onto waaaaaay too long.

Just my 4 cents

I would like to know why the current mayor can not revoke someones citizanship? If the mayor gets out of hand with this then the citizans of the city have the right to boot him out and vote a new mayor in. Or at least have a term that the mayor can place someone on and if x number of players vote it that player citizanship is revoked.

Personally, I agree with the idea of not allowing a grace period after the character purge. It's just asking for lot trades and ghost citizens and the like, which is why I've been stressing that the dual citizenship exploit be fixed before the purge if at all possible. But just because I think it's not a good idea doesn't mean the community at large does.

Later this week, I'll start a voting thread on whether a grace period is something we want or ask to not have. That way we can keep the discussion focused there and get a better idea of the overall pros and cons.

I have been good, I have not posted my normal weekly posts. I have been watching, and all I can say is this, Khristen marry me!!!!!!! lol I have waited for this kinda stuff to be talked about, and finally it is being considered. Far cry from where we were 3 months ago. Keep it up!

What I am hoping (perhaps naievely so) is that the cities who re-grow post-character purge will refrain from ever using lot swaps to inflate their population, and consider this a lesson learned.

Glad to see plenty of folks preparing (we are doing the same thing)..making sure that our active citizens are within "township" radius of city hall in the event our ranking falls from its current rank of "city".

The part that makes me wonder some is going to be with some old cities shrinking this could cause a "balance of power" shift on the planets where the caps have been reached as old and new cities start scrambling for the limited # of shuttleports. I expect Naboo, Tattooine and Corellia to be very widely affected by a character purge given he sheer number of cities and houses that are on those planets.

I also have several houses in my town that were placed when we were lvl 4 by opposite faction people that later got perma banned by csr's for several reasons. i have spent 6 MONTHS now trying to get csr's to move or pack up or whatever to get rid of houses that are from perma banned accounts and they tell me there is nothign i can do and i shuold try contacting the player to move the structure.

NOW HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO GET A PERMABANNED ACCOUNT TO MOVE STUFF???? ever since they moved csr jobs to India the customer service which was bad to begin has only gotten worse.

I even have a house in town that was from a player who had me on admin and he left the game abruptly after getting very ill. he had a year maintenence. we waited and waited and waited for it to poof. then just as it was literally down to 3 days left on it the publish came where it would suck the players bank dry. i know for a fact this guy had over 100's ofmillions in his bank as he was the best chef on our server right after the chef revamp and worked at it nonstop for months before having to leave. basically menaing his house right in the middle of town will never ever go away.
