Thread: Voting Change and Ghost Citizens
with the inabilitiy to get the inactivity rule right i think the character purge, in case it will ever come could be a disaster

Yeah the inactivity rule was falwed
The best bet is the character purge which has not been done yet. Because lets face it cities could lose standing and not have space to replace the citizens.
Weneed that character purge

I like the inactivity rule, all though I am a novice politician(alt character). I hate having even ghost members in the PA's too. I wish that inactivity rule would be reinstated. It would make life so much easier when it comes to this stuff.
Inactivity rule was flawed. Would you want to risk the chance that you log in the game and find out that the game listed you as inactive and since you are the mayor and the game has determined you are inactive, there is no mayor in your city, thus the city is removed?

Here's the issue:
If you quit the game for a period of time, and wanted to come back - would you actually come back if your house and stuff had been deleted or re-deeded? I doubt it.
Follow the money, and you'll see that this change is not going to happen.
Waht are you talking about, the inactivity rule has nothing to do with deletion of stuff, or re-deeding of houses, just removal of citizens from the citizenship count if they are not active for certain periods.

heres the exact problem with purging city rolls for inactive players. you purgejoe noplayfrom the city roll so hes not a citizen anymore after eh 2 months. Joe no longer count for a citizen for leveling, nor provide any other benefit of being in the city until hes taxed broke.meanwhile theres nothing about removing any of joes inactive houses/harvs/factories ect becuase god forbid Joe decides to reactive his account 6-12 months down the road, so now youve got a derelict house taking up space in your town you cant get rid of and dont even get the benefit of knowing who owns it or having it counted for leveling purposes.
i would suggest the mayor get some way to kick citizens off the city roll but that dog wont hunt either, i could see all the replies about how it could grief a town with a corrupt mayor ect ect ect Best thing is leave it be and pm the hell outta thunder whatever to let csr's purge city rolls of people no longer in town, they might get to it by 2k6![]()
