>The needs of the Many outweight the needs of the One and the Mayor is the elected representative of the Many

not a personal attack, just having fun with ye quote.

I love reading that, so few unstand the difference between want and need, so it gets very abused. Just because most think want=need doesn't make it true.or dont care that there is a difference. Truth is never determined by popular vote or by power.

do ye research you will find imminent domain is highly abused, downright criminally at times.

The wants of the many is outweighed by the Rights of the one. /grin

ok back to main issue. I think eviction idea is a good one if restricted in use. If a structure is placed into a city via the granting of zoning rights, then removing those zoning rights should start the eviction process.

HOWEVER, if a structure is already there either before the city is placed, or gets included via city expansion, it should be IMMUNE to eviction. The mayor done screwed up for not taking it being there into consideration when placing the city. thats not the owners fault nor should he/she be penalized for it (or blocked access to his stuff)

Maybe add a warning to builders who put stuff down next to a city, (for the area of next increase only!), that the area will be encapsulated by the city at the next increase of zone size and that the item or house may be subjected to eviction. ie they know that they will soon be inside the city so may not want to build there. that puts it back to want vs wants rather than versus rights.

It would be nice to have some city planning tools, better ways to map thingsas well asmove items around.

WATER AND HILLS in the WAY

i also think that is should be alot easier to place buildings ontop of little water puddles

the hills aswell should have more give.

that way we could place things alot easier.

in the end we just want somewhere to play in where its nice to look at.

LESS LAG IDEA

they SHOULD put files on our system so we DONT have to LOAD structures and items

everytime we go away then come back and make tehm perminant.

im sure this would save alot of resources on there side and spread the load to everyone.

put less demands on the servers whe you're running through Theed w/ 50 people on your screen.

it would lag for a moment. but when you have the builk down and just simple changes its alot easier.

im not sure how it works now. but everytime i go into my house it take a few seconds to load everything up

this way when i go in it would check my files and then check the server file while making simepl changes.

if there are any to be made.

the same way they did it w/ our mail service in teh game when we do /mail

we should have a /surroundings or something of that sorts where we could save whats in our radius.

such as when we're in a house or buildings we're in alot.

even when we're outside in a player city, everything 150m radius of ya is saved.

just a thought

When there are misplaced structures, whether done through grief or accident, I'd like to be able to rezone them within the city limits. In my proposed approach I have tried to cover the various "abuse of power" aspects that a unscrupulous Mayor may exploit. It would give Mayor's a long term option for city maintenance.

If you read my post you'll see that I'm opposed to eviction because it would make it far too easy for a Mayor to abuse. This really crosses over into two issues: a. What can we do about Rogue structures and b. What can we do about griefer residents.

In the firstpart that relates to this discussionthe Mayor picks it up and places it in a part of the city where the structure will be less prone to be used as a staging area for grief.

In the latter part there should be fixes to city ban and city warn so it could be extended to residents. It should NOT result in the loss of voting power for that resident as that could be abused by a Mayor trying to shield him/herself from residents outraged by abuse of authority.

The needs of the Many outweight the needs of the One and the Mayor is the elected representative of the Many and if the Many feel the Mayor is not representing them they can vote for one who does.

Edit Add: City Rezoning has "Master Politician" written all over it

Edit Add: If there is such a great concern about abuse then restrict the option to structures which the Mayor has been given admin so the structure owner can volunteer to have the house relocated without having to go through the painful process of picking everything up and repositioning at the new location.

My situation has been resolved. And it will not happen again. I have dissolved the old militia, and do not plan on reinstating one at this time. The /transferstructure command works great, and I know that the house is going in the proper location when I am the one placing it.
