Hi all,
As its rapidly approaching the BIG one year mark for some of us. It feels like just yesterday when we first founded our cities.
Last week I took the time out to work out how much everyone in the city has invested to keep the city running.
Taking into account our weekly city maintenance which is just over the 700k a week mark and covering costs for all the city structures and malls that we host between us.
It worked out that the net worth of the city was around the 100million mark taking into account investments into the city militia, city gardens and city trade. Fair enough we have a city museum and zoo which had a lot of rare items (full sets of bh armor, etc).
After all this money & time invested in the city what makes us any different to the rest of the new cities that have a Metropolis rank. Our city is one of the oldest and biggest player cities on our server after all this hard work and effort I'm guessing we will receive some recognition? Maybe a special statue that we can place or a title for cities that have made it too a year! Same for mayors! Year in office you would expect a set of pens or something!
I hope that the devs think of something (not a painting) because there must be some milestone for us to aim for once we've placed every structure down and maxed the possible head count!
I'm sure they could throw in some for free after the amount they charge a week on maintenance.
Anyone else have any ideas/comments?

I think I'd settle for getting to place one of those nice, pretty TIE Fighters firmly in the front lawn of city hall... And yeah, I could handle a title for the city, if not something nice for myself... perhaps just a prefix for the class, such as "You are now entering New Cardia (Antediluvian City, Improved Job Market)"
It would be nice though, for sure.

I was thinking of Force Pharple statues. Huge monstrosities that can be seen from miles away. A testament to the sacrfices of Force Pharples everywhere (they're extinct, you know) which is echoed in the sentimates of many who have put countless hours into bringing joy to others by sacrificing their own play time.
But that's just me.

I think a new civic structure would be nice for a city that hits the 1-year mark. Something cool like aCity Swimming Pool or perhaps City Entrances (deedable, craftable, 2 small walls and a gate, similar to a garden). The walls don't have to go around the city or anything, just long enough to make it look like an 'official entrance' to the city.
Just something cool - we've worked so hard to keep what we have for an entire year, that I think we deserve something cool

hmmmmm I like the city gate thing. I've been wanting something like that for awhile now but I think maybe a statue or even just an empty tall building (with a few small rooms and limited space) like city hall would be nice. Doesn't have to have special abilities or anything. It's not craftable or tradeable just shows up in our inventory and then we get to place another large tall building into the city (which makes it look more like a city of course

You know this could be a good idea - if anything it may encourage more inter-guild cooperation and less city churn if they know that at their anniversary will give them something cool.
I like the idea. Maybe Pappi can see if this is feasible for down the road.

Well I doubt they'll do something just for the 1 year old cities and probably an overall freebie for all player cities thanks to the 1 year mark. I don't care either way, if they do go by date of founding it'll take me a long time since we moved from our primary location after getting the hall down on the upped #'s patch.
1 thing I would really love to see added as a new statue would be each of the player races in token poses with formal to semi-formal clothes (no naked twi'leks) Maybe that could work its way into the year old extravaganza.
