Thread: Please Clarify: Structure vs Decoration vs Terminal vs Trainer?
I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out just what my city has installed around it. I manage a LVL 5 metropolis, so I believe these limits apply:
- Civic Structures: 60
- Terminals: 15
- Trainers: 15
- Decorations: 50?
Trying to figure out how many I have of each has proven difficult with the poor city management interface. Of course, Terminals and Trainers are easy, as you get the report every time you place one. Decorations are where I am having difficulty. I look at the structure report, and immediatly get the truncated to 50 message. I also get a report that there are 54 civic structures in the city. In the list I see trainers, terminals, streetlamps and the expected clone center, hospital, etc....
How can a "trainer" be counted as a structure? Does a lampost count twords my 60 structure limit? Do terminals? Where does it tell me how many decorations I have out? Not on the city hall terminal that I can see.
Also, I see fountains and statues listed here that I know I have not placed (zoning has been in effect since start of city). Is it possilbe that statues in private houses are registering as city decorations?
Please clarify if you can.
We need help on this. With the new limit on "civic structures" and the 75k penalty for each over the limit we really need to know what is going on.
Yes plz this is getting to the point where any week now somebody is going to get hit with a massive fine and have to spend the following week explaining tocitizens why the city went broke over night.
RIOT...
We've been talking about this in our City as well. An NPC should not be counted as a "Civic Structure" if that will be the case after the patch. Terminals - well, this one is debateable as far as the Cap goes. Can we get this clarified?
This is a copy of a note I just added to my original CSR ticket. It has part of the solution:
I stumbled across part of the reason, and it is a bug:
when an decoration is placed, the mayor has the option to EXAMINE, REMOVE, PICK UP, and ALIGN. When you PICK UP and item that has been placed, it is moved to your inventory, BUT, it is NOT removed from the Structure Report list. It is not removed until you select REMOVE from the radial menu. This applies no matter WHAT you do with the item ounce it has been PICKED UP (not REMOVED). I intentionaly PICKED UP a street lamp (rather than REMOVE) it. I then gave it to a citizen, and he ran it to cornet where another citizen took it from him, and ran it back to me. the whole time, the lamp was being counted against the city structure cap. I then had the individual DESTROY the lamp from inventory, and it was then removed from the structure report.
I have PLACED, PICKED UP, and then given away MANY items. These items are still being counted against the city structure cap. There is no way I can hunt them all down. I need help. This also DOES NOT adress the issue of the report being truncated at 50 items, and there being no way to differenciate between decorations, termoinal, trainers and legitimate structures.
I do
but I have pulled then up and checked the numbers on the report terminal. They don't change.
Perhaps there is a delay with the reports update.
For any DEVs reading... I would really like coordinates to everything as part of this report! Even if it is a pipe dream, you could really reduce the load on the database if we could find and remove the errant items listed in this report.
Bumpage.
