Ok, structure maintanance is turned off. But yet cities still pay out the yinyang, why? Isn't a lot of what we pay for on a weekly basis not Structure Maintanance for City Structures?
Now I can see some items being excluded, that we will still have to pay: Map Registratoin, City Specialization, etc.
Any reason why this is so?

I hadn't even thought of that. But it's a very good question. I'd like to know myself. It costs a lot to run a city.

They know about the current tax situation (because I just brought it up today
) and how the no maintenance removes one of the two taxes we have that actually works (Garage Tax being the other). As soon as I have something I can bring back here about it, I'll let you all know.

Thanks,
I ticketed it, I know its a waste of time but figured the more people thatbring it to their attention the better!
BTW I am Kontessa Azure, Mayor Of Usu Enki on Tatooine(Corbantis)
We average between 145 and 150 citizens so that is a heaping lot of City Maintainence!
We pay close to 600K a week so I hope they fix this soon!

I think we pay around 830k a week for out city maintenance, but luckily the former leaders/mayor left some surplus in the treasury. As new mayor, I may need to cut back on some structures. Mayor of Caerbannog (Nog) on Naboo (Kauri server)

City maintenance doesn't use the same system as structure maintenance.

That doesn't mean it couldn't also be turned off. Don't get me wrong I'm glad they're helping out people in the affected areas, and I'm sure Sony Proper has cut a fair check. However they pretty much continued the trend of ignoring player cities as being influenced or even part of the concept of 'player structures.' It is true that we don't own the land, nor even the buildings in a certain respect. That does not mean that we can have no control over a vast majority of our cities...we still don't though, and now we don't get to join in on the free lunch.

im not bothered about still having to pay maintenance on our city. However without trying to sound insensitive to the situation in america it cuts off quite a large tax from the cities which although doesnt nearly cover the cost of running the city it takes a bit of pressure off me having to help fund the city. We have a few systems in place in our city for the upkeep and its quite well balanced but not sure how this will throw it out. We have around 80 citizens and many more structures around the town which brings in income. I just feel that everyone gets a maintenace free time apart from the people running the cities who have to make up the loss.
This in no way means I dont think soe should be sensitive to the siuation or switch maintenace back on just to please us but it feels nice to be thought of once in a while

I also /bugged this. The property tax was helping to keep my small city afloat quite a bit. I guess the DEVs have decided to simulate Katrina in SWG andputsome of the SWG citiesunder water as well...
