city maintenance is calculated after the voting cycle every 3 weeks, and by itself in the other 2 weeks. so if the city had no money and has taken enough damage before voting/maint cycle comes up, civic structures (including the city hall) can be destoryed.

Our mayor was given money to pay for the cityhall for a year.

Our taxes was always on max and we have payed as a community effort.

Ourmayor was the onlyone who could have admin to the cityhall, so it was her responsibility.

Since she abused her responsibilities and left the gameshe was properlyre-elected.

In my point of view, the villagers did everything right. We put someone in charge, we payed our taxes, we replaced the leader when it was required, but2 seconds is a bit limited for a new mayor to fix up this kind of damage, dont you agree?

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

well, giving money to the mayor does not equal to the maintenance being paid, and taxes being paid doesn't mean the budget will belance itself.

admin to the city hall only means that the mayor is the only person that can drop/pickup items in the hall. anyone (including non-citizens) can put money directly into the treasury by accessing the city terminal in the left room. anyone can also check the status of the city, list of citizens, list of structures, city level, maintenance report, and treasury report via that terminal. the city hall is a civic structure, and since citizens cannot be citybanned that implies any citizen can check these stats out at any time.

this might not be anyone's fault (except for your mayor who quit). it's unfortunate that the hall is gone, but it's just bad luck (and poor oversight) that resulted in the city hall poofing right after your new mayor is elected. you can see if the CSR has mercy on the situation, however it's not a bug and I doubt they'll do much about it.

Good to know I guess. Still doesnt mean that a person in charge got the message

If a city is demolished on the election day, cantit at least be postponed a new election period if a new mayor took over?

well, as you had weeks from the treasury hits 0 to civic structures being destroyed, there isn't much ground for me to bring that request to the devs. I can put "email to citizens when treasury is out of money" onto our wish list, but I doubt it'll happen any time soon

Hmmmm.

When I read what you said I thought you meant that a City is deleted on election day, and thats the only time in which cities are deleted. That means that each 3rd week cities dissappear, if nobody payed maintenance.

The request in this case was that if the old mayor lost the race against a new mayor, the city should not be deleted that electionday (the second the new mayor takes over), but postponed to next election, or a week after that. Or something. Giving the new mayor chances to shape up and fix up all bad things the now removed Mayor caused to the city.

Another argument is the case in which a loosing mayor decide to withdraw all currently payed maintenance from the cityhall just becouse they are loosing their race (and thereby hurt the city by having it deleted).

I meant that the city maintenance cycle happens every 7 in game days, however every 3rd one coincides with the voting cycle, and the maintenance happens *after* the voting... which would explain why the city poofed after your new mayor is elected instead of the old one.

an email to the citizens when the treasury hits 0 should be enough warning, as it takes a few more weeks before the city hall poofs without funds in the treasury. the civic structures takes damage that can be reversed by putting extra money into the treasury.

edit: typo

Might be a good way to save from further grief in this...

Our guild have had several major blows lately, where our GuildLeader was removed so the guildterminal broke. Then the city died, and now our Jedi Resource Building is condemned and the original owner left the game...

There is so many bad things that can happen to a little group of friends that just want to have fun together. Its so bad when unlucky sideeffect of in-game mechanics split people up

if it makes you feel better, there's now a new guild system in place. you can probably read the details in the guild forum, but if a guild leader doesn't log on for a certain amount of time people can vote someone else in as leader

I have taken daily visits to the PA forum since our guild broke 2 weeks ago. Its a known problem and it seems its been unfixed for 2 months.

In the case where a guild lost its leader by some reason, the guild terminal is frozen stiff. No further commands are accepted.

This includes inviting and electing a new (or old) guildleader.

hrm, well that's outside of the scope for here, so you might want to post on the PA forum. you can try sending in a CSR ticket for that though... not sure what they can do (and they probably won't, so post in the PA forum just in case), but it doesn't hurt to try

p.s.: I'm going to bed, no more responding to threads until tomorrow afternoon

But yep, I got sidetracked and lost my topic... so I hope you had a good nights sleep without listening to my rambling ^_^

Our Mayor have gone missing. For about 2 months now we havnt seen her online once. A month ago it was agreed we needed a replacement, so my friend signed up and we all voted on her. She have done an exellent work with decorating our houses so far.

2 seconds after she was Elected, she received an e-mail that told her the City Hall was destroyed due to lack of maintenance. No chance to pay more. Its just like the game decided that when a new mayor is elected, then its a proper time to pay maintenance.

Now, a mayor is often replaced due to abuse of their position... Putting the wrong person in charge can ultimately lead to the destruction of the entire city and everything stored inside the cityhall.

We have just posted the third ticket to the CSR's about this and they simply refuse to understand english.
