Thread: Why Can't we place Bazaars?
/agree
I mentioned this a few weeks ago but was flamed by players saying it's not necessary because we can use vendors. Well not every single player has access to a vendor. Also, not every item is worth selling on a vendor. Plus, having items on the bazaarshow up across the galaxywill draw people to the city to pick up their items and hopefully cause them to shop at the vendors located right next to the bazaar!
Rather than a bazaar, get a good merchant to set up a tent with a variety of vendors. He or she will be able to list them on the planet map, have goods for sale for 30 days instead of 10 and not deal with price caps.
Playing merchant for real (as in dealing in reselling goods rather than just what you alone can make) has made me most of my money. I have deals with my other crafting friends...I pay for the goods up front, they don't need to worry about the marketing.
The bazaar is a good way to get into business, but is not meant to replace having "real" businessfolk.
Yes, bazaars in player cities would be wonderful, then I could stop hosting vendors ![]()
I do this as well, and am spending a lot of time doing it.

Thinking about this, there is some grief potential. A mayor puts lots of cool items on the bazaar and then removes the bazaar terminal after the stuff has been sold. There would have to be a failsafe for this, like having items retrievable in the nearest NPC town if for some reason the bazaar is removed or the city is destroyed. The same would apply if something is bought by the opposing faction in a faction city or if someone is banned from a city.
I would love to have a bazaar, but the reasons listed may be the reasons the devs didn't give us the option. If only there were no griefers in the game, things would be so much nicer. ![]()

Every city in the Galaxy has a Bazaar, player cities should too. It should be a structure like the Banking terminals, it should use 0 lots and be placed by the Mayor.
I am a Master Merchant and a Mayor. I run six vendors on three planets and my city. The bazaar allows all non-Merchant types to sell small things like camps, traps, meds, small amounts of resources etc.

Hmm..possibly...well, since the devs are looking for money sinks, why not implement an express delivery feature? Like a SW version of FedEx. Charge, say, 5k or 10k for immediate pickup from wherever you are. Hmm..I guess that's a little faster than FedEx

Since you're doing the same two jobs as me (Merchant and Mayor) you do know that players can offer items at your vendors? Create one called "Bazaar" or "General Goods" or whatever. Have players offer stuff for what they want to make, buy the stuff and mark it up 10-20% and resell. They get 30 days for it to move rather than 7.
Yes, I do this all the time...
Problem solved.
