Thread: Eye Candy For Cities Please
I'm a mayor, all neat and good, but town seems a little...bland. I mean, we have the cantina, cloning, bank, and etc. But there's no real flavor. I'd love to be able to place some NPCs around or perhaps some of those vendor looking tents around, random discarded junk, or any or the other things that you see all around in the actual game cities. I can't even put trainers in the cantina just to add some "warm" bodies around to liven the place up a bit when not many are around.
There's a natural flaw with the player cities and that's the simple fact that the times when everyone's on and around is very far and few between. It'd be nice to be able to place a few things around to make our "ghost towns" a little less vacant, and more like placed people are willing to hang out in.
I mentioned the cantina a little earlier, first off, almost a good design. The fact that it eats up so many lots and you can't even give the poor master chef/ master entertainers a place to call an office, or a basement to call their own is just a bad call. The place also needs the ability to change some lighting to some other colors, or to even dimmer settings would be nice. But the biggest thing that one should be able to place in there is an NPC band. I don't care if they don't heal mind wounds, but just to have something going on, and some music playing would be a really nice touch.
All right, it's late and I ramble. I'm done.
I think it would be nice to place crafting station inside the city without having to be in a building
that would be nice.
I have NPC's in my city, farmers, miners, etc.
Just like the Non Player Cities.
I have droids rolling to and fro, just like the NPCities.
I'm just a thrifty individual I guess.
And I have good citizens.

DUDE I totally agree...
Basically we should be able to do what Non Player Cities do,although I dont think player cities should ever get SOME of the things NPCites get, like Bazaars and Spaceports.
We still need a reason to go to the NPCities

I think giving us spaceports isn't a good idea. Space travel isn't supposed to be open to everyone on a planet. With the baricades the imperial fleet put up sometimes. So keep the spaceports to the npc cities. But a bazaar i surely should like to see in a player city. And I don't see any reason why we shouldn't get one.
Someone in another post spoke of intercity bazaar like trading, I'm more than alittle intrigued by it, although I'd like to see it without the bazaar caps and at a premium to the two cities linked (higher maintenance costs or taxes imposed) as well as the two cities requiring consent from each other to make the link... yes seperate links between each pair of cities, maybe a limit to how many cities each city can have links to, maybe an incentive to actually master pollitician. Definetly same planet only trading.
Just adding to someone elses idea you could say. Wish I could remember the thread I saw this in, I would love to give the original poster credit. Not to mention he also made some other great suggestions

And I don't see any reason why we shouldn't get one.Because you could delete the bazaar or the city and then all the items up for sale on that terminal (you have to go to the location of purchase after all) is gone. So you not only can grief all your citizens by removing the cloner and port et. al. but you can screw people out of millions while you're at it.That being said I don't see why we can't get a terminal that lets us view the other NPC ones but not offer up a sale. If you need grinder copper and the local guy is out and not online do you want to drive all the way to your closest town (faster then flying) only to find out that you needed to hit Coronet instead of Kor Vella etc.? This would save the time and effort, including other stuff you buy on the bazaar of course.Oh and for a new cantina floor plan, give Corellians an upstairs in lieu of,or as well as a down.
I really like this idea for player city bazaar viewing only terminals...
