What does "That Guild Name Is Not Allowed" mean? I know it doesn't mean it's taken, because I've had the message about the name already being taken come up too. The name is "Nuke The Empire!" and abbreviation "NukEm"...whats wrong with that?

The wordfilter applies to all names so you cannot use the word 'empire' in your guild. You will see that it is also permitted to use certain words as guildtitles like sergeant, major or colonel. Write it something different or in case of the guildtitle use abbreviations.

Kinda sucks that you can't use the word "Imperial" anymore either. I know some guilds got their name before it was added to the filter. I can think of a number of good names starting with Imperial.

Also, you can't put THE. I tried Keepers of THE Peace and it didn't do it. Keepers of Peace worked, so sorry - no the's allowed....I think.

"The" is allowed. My guild just changed names, and the new one includes the word "the". However, there is a character limit. Perhaps "the" pushed you over the edge.

Might be the fact that your trying to create a sentence with it (or what the system is reading as a sentence)

Possibly the use of the word Nuke

I dont think Empire is the problem since we have a PA named Eternal Empire on our server.

Your just gonna have to experiment with names to see what you can and cannot use.

Another possibility: I believe the system won't accept similar names. So, perhaps there is only one instance of the word Empire in a guildname per server? This could be totally off base so I invite evidence to the contrary. I thought it might explain why a specific word isallowed for some people'sPAname but not others.

Tatooine would be on the list of canon names and therefore disqualified. The rest of the name is probably ok.

It's always a challenge to find a good title for my guild members. I sometimes spend 15 minutes thinking up names before one works :-/

I just recently went through the hell of a name change. I wanted to have a name that was more Star Warsy than Fantome Mercenaries so I had chosen Force X (pronounced ten not ex). Why the X and not a 10? Numbers can not be used even if you try to use alpha-numerics. So Force Ten wouldn't work either.

Another problem was that there is a guild already using Task Force X on my server and I found this out six days after submitting the name change. It takes the full seven days to have the name change go into effect btw. I am thinknig that Force X would have stuck as our tag was a smiple X and theirs was TFX. But we decided to go for something different and original. It would have been helpful if therte was a master list somewhere to view the names currently in use as to avoid these situations.

If you are trying for a Star Warsy name, the Official Star Wars website www.starwars.com does not list any specific units (other than Rogue Squadron) from the brief research I was able to do, but itdoes give a good idea of how to name a military unit. To sum it up, the units are based along the lines of US and British armed forces during World War II mostly.

Not sure if any of that is at all helpful, just thought I would through it out there for anyone interested.
