My guild has a similar problem long ago when we tried to use the word "Emperor" in our name. We bypassed this problem by simply making our guild name and its abbreviation the same thing (in this case TEH). Chances are ones guild will be referred to as by their abbreviation most of the time so it doesnt really matter. All you have to do is spread the word on what your abbreviation stands for through the game forums and a website. Best of luck...

My guild, the Imperial Strike Force, is really named "Imp Strike Force" because Imperial isn't allowed.

Although it may be all of the above, it could be the fact that the tag is the last name of the ancient game Duke Nukem. SOE could be afraid if id came after them for using one of there first games like that, never know though.

Wow...surprised to see this thread still up...
The final results came as this: Tag- NukEm, Name- Imp Nukers
So Nukem worked as a tag, imp worked in the name as well as nukers...Ah, well I lost my patience after a while and just threw some corny stuff in and kept it

It says somewhere in the EULA that you cannot use Star Wars copyrighted names/words for your character. I would expect that the same applies to guild names.
Hope this helps.
