Thread: Item storage or Lot req (If you had to choose)
Well since alot of the main issues people put are both lot sizes and upping the item amount PA's can store I figure we should help out our correspondent out bypolling which is more pressing since both are greatly needed features. So choose either lower lot requirements or up the item storage.
I would choose to up the storage limit. I personally have most of my hall decorated beautifully, however the cap is leaving it a little bit more spartan than I would like, and we're just a medium guild without 50+ members needing seats, even if just upping the item storage by 100 we would be able to finish the design, and have a small storage area for those who can't drop their own home. Since I'm not a crafter (and honestly why would you drop the hall if you were) the lots aren't too pressing. While I would love to have my own small/medium home I have a master bedroom in the hall so let me drop all my clothes and gear in there and I'm happy. Oh and fix the balconey bug I really want to be able to place more then streetlamps and fountains up there.
What would you choose?
Storage. The ratio of lots to items allowed for storage in the PA hall is disporpotionately low. It is not so much a decoration issue for me as it is functionality being my personal residence, work place for my guild mates, and armory for the combat crew.
Storage!
The number of lots can be restricting to people, but this may be a necessity to keep people from using guild halls as their personal homes. With so many lots used, however, it should afford a little more space, both because the number of lots *requires* that the guild leader (or just owner of the hall, if they're not the same person) use at least a room of the hall as their own home, if they should desire to have a home. But also, the whole justification behind all the lots is that the hall is meant for GROUPS of people! Why, then, is the item limit so ridiculously low? It's just enough to decorate the hall sparsely, as has been pointed out, and not nearly enough to allow any kind of storage for the guild.
Raise the item limits!
Who cares if people use PA halls for private residences? If they want to payfor the cost, good for them. The manual states any player that places a PA hall, that hall acts like a regular guild hall for the PA that he belongs to so the leader could run to a closer hall than tracking to the main PA hall.
My guild only has one PA hall up but I've seen others that have a couple halls up and if that's how they want to build their city or maybe they want to be on multiple planets, or maybe some merchant wants to use all that space for a mall (I've seen this too), I don't see how that makes a difference to players in general.
6lotseach andyou only get 1 PA hall. Same item count as a Large House. Same lot size as a Large House. But you can up to 4 harvestors/factories or maybe a Medium House for a private residence or whatever up to help you. I agree with the post in the "Top 5" that the whole lot system is a bit outta wack. Its 2 or 6 lots for a house. Nothing in between. Something needs to be looked at here.
I don't feel the guild leader should take the lot hit and limit their play options just because he wants create a little fellowship with other players. I'd rather see the PA hall lot limit taken down a notch or two freeing up room for those looking to be a guild leaderand a crafter.
They said they'd loosen up on the house limits. Of course that could be like 3 years from now but they said they'd do it. I'd rather my lots be fixed and let them up the limits eventually.

How many times can I vote?
As many as you want but it only counts as one![]()
And to put in a little discussion, the reason that some people like PA's being so restrictive is that if the lot req is too low then these will pop up everywhere instead of large homes because they look nicer and have the same storage, just twice the maint as a largebut any crafter and most combatants can easily afford that. They need to be kept semi rare so we don't see Y structures ever 30 meters. Sorry, back to the polling.
Ok I'll discuss,
I see what you are saying but most people use the larges houses as shops as well. I hate going in them with all the rooms and and hallways. Players should be able to use halls as shops and have at least a med house for their personal use.
I'm looking at this as a Guild Leader and Mainly a Crafter. As a crafter I need harvesters and factories to make a living. Out of the question as the one who put down the hall without help from others. Because of the we are seeing cross-server lot swapping increase. SOE Can't like that. I have many problems with having to use the hall as my house.
PersonallyI would like to be able to have the hall, a med house, and afew lots to place a harvester and a factory. I would then be able to have one harvester down at a time to collect resources swith them as I need them and at the same time a factory working switching them as I need them.
So that would make the hall take up 6 lots. That is still over half of your lots. This would still not allow people to place more than one hall. And this would not affect fighting proffessions in the least but would allow crafters to have a little room to play.
How about counting the packs (and all it's contents) as a single item?
That alone would make me happy.
Housing lot limits are too restrictive. if a small house requires 2, then a medium should require 2 more lots and hold more to put it in the middle of the small and large houses. That or bring down the lot requirements for large houses as well.
all in all i agree with goldy
My vote is for more item limit. I'm in the same boat as that psychotic chipmunk. I don't really need more lots since I am not a crafter(I also took a large bedroom in the basement).
I've begun decorating the hall with some ideas that I think are cool, and I've only decorated part of the main room and one of the side rooms and I'm already approaching the cap. Seems pretty ridiculous to me that something that takes up 9 lots only gets 250 items. I would be happy with 400-500 items. I want to have everything in my hall, not more lots to scatter around the hall as storage sheds.
