The elevator in our guild hall seems to be bugged. I am able to use it just fine, but another guild member is not. He tried logging out for 5 minutes and it still did not fix it. Any suggestions???

First, make sure that he is all the way in the elevator door when trying to use it, otherwise you won't be able to. If that doesn't work, he can try logging for at least 10 minutes and that should help. If it still doesn't work, then find another Guild hall somewhere that is public and see if he can use their elevator. It sounds to me that since you can use it fine that it isn't a problem with the hall but with his character or how he's trying to use it.

He traveled off planet and that seemed to fix it. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Guild I am a part of has its hall on the shores of an island outside of Tyrena. Once in a while, I would get to the hall, use the elevator to go to the basement, and get this message "you are already on the lowest floor" all the while remaining in the main room upstairs.
Over time, I discovered that if I go outside, get on a vehicle, and drive around the hall one lap, I can then use the elevator properly.
Hope this helps you for future occurances.

Occurences like these are just minor glitches in the code of the game. For any problem like this logging out for atleast 10 minutes (it removes your character from the world) will fix it 99% of the time.

TIP!
If you want to GUARANTEE that your character is out of the world (and not have to wait 10 min), find a friend who will watch your toon when you logout. Login to another server and send your friend a tell. When your toon disappears, he can send your toon on the alternate server a note!

I have this same problem about 90% of the time I log in. I file a /bug report on it everytime as I see this as an unacceptable bug in the game. A "workaround" is not a fix for a problem like this. I had to have a CSR come into the game to retrieve items I had stored in the basement of the guildhall. It would be nice if we could look up the status of bug reports that we have sent.

Another workaround is to go outside the guildhall, call a vehicle, mount it, store it and then use the elevator. I had the elevator bug in my old guildhall, and this method fixed the problem every time

Can anyone find a way to CAUSE this bug to happen? It seems like its popping back up now after being fixed for a while. If you guys can give me some details I'll make sure to poke a dev about it.

I dont think that there is one specific thing that will cause bugs like these to happen. My hypothesis is that somewhere down the line, a line or two of code gets corrupted, or a packet is dropped, so the request that you want to go down is never recieved by the server..... but its just my guess.
