IMHO pa leader having to use skill points is well....STUPID. Why should we have to use skill points to run our own guild? Ive made my guild with a few others because we wanted to be our own squad, a "club".
If a Pa leader gets additional skills then maybe yeah id understand having to use skill points. If i got an additional +10 melee defense, or +10 whatever yeah maybe id maybe think it was kinda remotely an OK idea. But this Post has to die, just stupid in my opinion.
Why are you trying to Screw the PA leaders?

I mean, its only fair right? Why can PAs be run any any joe on the street with any skills while to effectively run a city requires you to screw your character up to the point of uselessness?

Ok, ok, I am only kidding - but it is something to think about What is the difference between a PA leader and the mayor of a city that requires the mayor to basically give up their SWG career to follow that path?

For the reasons that I put onyour politician board thread.

There is no apparent reason that you've given that persuades me to give up even more skill points then I already am, it wouldmerely hamper gameplay which is something that (outside of politician which needs to be fixed in that regard) should never be introduced to the game knowingly.

I think that is my point Psycho...

What is so different between the two roles that requires one to make gameplay sacrifices while the other does not?

I'm happy aboutmany of the gameplay enhancements that have been suggestedfor the Politician profession. I hope some of them make it live!

Because mayors get to do much much more then a PA leader. You seem to forget that some PA's are not the massive and faceless entities that are comprised of hundreds. To becomea PA you simply need 4 friends (less then an outpost) and enough money to get and keep a PA hall. I understand your points if all PA's were massive however most are not. The player association is meant to be either a massive group or a clump of good friends that enjoy playing together. Sure there are massive guilds that are the equivalent of a corporation, however there are also plenty of 5 or 10 men groups that just like to play together.

If PA leaders were given anything that is truly unique to them and only them then I might see some reasoning behind it but a large part of what we can do is easily created using things inside of the game or just by roleplaying it (except for guild mail and warring). You can macro a chatchannel, define ranks by a uniform over invisible text, and you all can join the same side of the GCW to fight. Meanwhile a politician (thanks to spending skill points) gets to drop shuttleports, clone centers, levy taxes, and decorate on the outside of buildings. Plus, hopefully, cities will be able to declare factions and/or war with others somewhere down the line. What exactly does a PA have that can rival any of those?

Whoa, whoa, arsenal....dood......that is bad language coming from your mouth lol. We all know that the crappy guild leaders end up destroying their own guild. So, basically it all filters out anyway. I believe that any guild that has been standing longer than 3 months is a VERY well established guild.

So just to get this right, PA leaders should not only get screwwed out of multiple lots 7 or 9, but now they also must give up precious skill points for it? Not the best Idea I ever heard.

If PA leaders had abilities or skills conferred upon them, then I would agree that skill points should be used, but being the leader of a PA doesn't confer any advantages of which I am aware, so there is no reason to require a skill point expenditure. I think the loss of lots is enough of a sacrifice.

Guild leader already cost9 ofour 10 lots and it dont give much.

9 lots already forcemany of us to buy a second account, so no way that it should cost skill point to.

Yes being a mayor cost skill points but it cost ZERO lots and give so much more thenguild leader gives.

so NO dumbest ide i heard.

Well, I thought this thread had died, but apparently it hasn't

For one, as a PA leader, you are not required to use your own lots to host the PA hall. So this is an optional sacrifice that can be transfered to someone else. A mayor cannot choose to have someone else use the skill points.

Second, PA leaders definitely have some unique skills and abilities. They are aprently just taken for granted now since they are free, but there are quite a number of things that you can do that a normal citizen cannot.

Why should it require skill points? IMO, it should give you extra skill points, so the guild leader can be more powerfull than the rest of the members
