You can find the original commentary on this topic HERE. I will still use the ideas and perspectives that were put forth in that thread as we move forward. However, please add any new comments to our new thread in this forum.

Thanks Jascentia!

I'm just responding so this shows up on the Dev Tracker. We opened this new forum today for you all to discuss Player Associations. To advertise your P.A., we still strongly recommend you use our floated threads in your Galaxy forums.

i can't believe more people haven't posted here. i was going to ask people if they expected the nature of what a PA is now that cities are live. are PAs going to become inter-city or even interplanetary associations of players who think they can benefit from association? is there going to be an Uber-crafter guild, or other guilds of elite players who's guild names are respected on all planets? or will they continue to be the little city hall type things that they were before cities went live?

Most likely something won't be done about any of these issues for months to come anyways, I remember all these bugs from beta still. I stopped caring a long time ago...

While I agree with the bugs being important that are listed here, I would replace the GUI for Members needing an overhaul with the broken War Declaration. This would make things infinately more interesting for those guilds that are big on PvP.

  • The 250 item limit seems small for the size and lot usage of a PA Hall. There are two components here, number of lots and capacity. Should the lots be lowered, should the item limit be increased? Many would say both, but which would you pick if you had to choose?

This is an issue that has bugged me since I first placed my PA Hall. I was ok with losing 9 lots but furious when I found out my PA Hall could only hold the same amount as a large house. What gives?

This is a PA Hall. 500 items would be great.

I don't think lowering the lot usage is a good idea as it just makes more PA Halls on the landscape rather than someone having to really decide whether or not to lose the lots for the PA or do other things.

Just my 2cents.

It's only happened once to our PA, but apparantly it isn't too uncommon.. but there is an occurance where the PA hall's admin list can dump. We fixed this by transfering ownership.

I wasn't aware that the Guild:XX wasn't working for allowing access to the PA Hall. Mine put it there automatically, and it works fine.

The things that concern me most are :

PA Email - This would be a great feature.

A way to tell which PA members are active and which ones are inactive. - I think this would greatly improve guild management. An easy to accesslist ofwhat members are active and/or set a a specific peroid of time for members to be considered inactive.

Guildchat continues to be highly unstable. -I constantly have to attemp to rejoin my GC channel. Sometimes i cannot log into it. Sometimes i am in the middle of chatting and it says i cant acces the channel yet the rest of the guild is talking freely. Very Frustrating. I enjoy this feature SO MUCH !!

Guild treasury should be separate from the PA Hall Maintenance pool (see below)

There should be a droid "PA Treasurer" in the PA Hall accessible only to PA Members that can hold credits and items for the PA. A new Treasury permission setting should be created along with this

I think this list of issues pretty much covers it. Hope to see some changes coming down the pike soon.

Fixing guildmail and guild chat, amd adding a MOTD feature would go a long way toward organizing and communicating within the guild.

a guild management tool something similar in design and function to the one used in everquest would be a very welcome addition , at least by me
