Thread: Top Five Issues for Player Associations Official Replies!
Here it is! While some of this may be old news, I am very pleased that there has been progress on so many of the guild-breaking issues I was faced with when I first became PA Correspondent. I am confident that this process of addressing bugs and adding features will continue to enhance our community-management efforts. ![]()
Without further ado, here is the official report:
1. Setting Allegiance does not change the PA Leader
This was fixed in the 11/20 hotfix. Please let us know if there are any further issues with this feature.
2. Guildchat continues to be highly unstable
We are aware of the chat server issues, and we agree that this is a serious problem. We are working hard to resolve this.
3. Anyone with kick permissions can remove the PA Leader
This should be fixed now, please let us know if it is not.
4. The interface for setting Guild Member Permissions needs an overhaul
We strongly agree, but enhancing the PA Interface will take some development time. We will take suggestions from the PA Community (like the proposed ranks system) into consideration when we are ready to develop this.
5. The functions to change PA Name and Abbreviation aren't working.
There are reports that this has been resolved for some PAs but not others. QA will continue to gather information to put this bug to rest.
Honorary Top 5: Planet-specific PA Halls cannot be placed on their "sister" planets, unlike all other architecture.
Fixed in the 12/16 patch! For reference, Tatooine structures can be placed on Lok and Dantooine. Corellian can be placed on Talus. Nabooian can be placed on Rori and Dantooine.

Thank you Jascentia! ![]()
We're trying to get all of our members to test the set-allegiance thing, but it may take a few days.
Now that that 5 is done, I offer the single biggest issue currently for House Paladin: The Vendors in Private Structures issue.
The devs have made these arguments against allowing vendors in private structures:
1. Griefing via regional listings - fixed, no longer an issue
2. People and PA's using vendors for storage, thus taking up too much database resources - Non-issue! With the instability of vendors and the stockroom especially, Vendors are very, very poor storage solutions.
We would like to be able to grant our PA Members goods at a significant discount. Those of you who suggest putting a very high entry fee on the structure housing the vendor, that's a good idea. BUT!
A. The listing"Guild:<tag>" on the entry or admin list does not work to allow people in without the entry fee.
B. Putting people on the list individually does work to allow them past the entry fee - But the list is limited to 50 people! There are 80+ in my PA.
This has been an issue for us for a loooong time. No bug or csr reports on this one have ever been responded to.
Kalic, you only need a simple majority to vote for you. Once the proper number of votes has been achieved Allegience should move over within one week.
I recently switched my guilds leadership from one account of mine to another, it only takes a majority and for me it happened the next day after getting it. (Was probably just lucky with the PA's update time).
I also am looking forward to a ranking system proposed for PAs. It would allow them to be much more diverse and distinct. I think it should be more along the lines of a generic system where we set the ranks and how to achieve them however, that way we make sure PAs do stay distinguished rather than all of them becoming uniform.
I think for guild rankings, the actual titles should be a little more leniant. I mean, this is a military style game with that type of ranking system, but due to the Rebel and Imperial ranks, every known military rank is barred from being used in guild titles.. I wish that would change. Since it isn't seen in anyones profile(Also should be changed) I don't see why it's really restricted. Just some thoughts.
Thanks for the info Jascentia!
Being a PA Leader myself, I am also in the process of getting the majority of the guild to set allegiance to me. Originally, one of our members placed the hall about 4 months ago, so it shows him as leader (even though he's been inactive for 3 months :smileymad![]()
So, if the set allegiance truly works, how will I know if it has? Any idea how many days it takes as well?
Also, I'm assuming that the rule of only need a majority of the guild to set allegiance, and every member is still there.
Thanks.

what i would like to see as a guild leader of over 100 people is a mass email option.
You have it. Just type the word "Guild" in the To: area.
If your the mayor of a city, you can mail all citizens by using "Citizens" in the To: area.
It's a fine line to walk, between keeping people informed and spamming ![]()
Well, I'm glad to see some attention to PA issues. Thanks for your efforts.
I guess what I would like to know is how do the Devs see the PA system? What are their goals for it? Is it merely a tool to help on social issues and inner-PA communication, or do they have other branches they are exploring?
I ask because I remember the initial list of what the PA system would feature. As a game system, it doesn't bode well that in light of that list I find myself thinking "if we can just have a stable chatroom I'd be happy".
- Is there a means to let non-guilded members into our guild chat? If so, how? If not, why not? We have friends in other PAs that we would like to have access. Even though I have both guild and public channels filtered into the same tab, it really is a pain to have to remember which /roomlabel to type and then have to type "mt" because I typed in the wrong one. Not to mention having to repeat something typed in guildchat into public chat so all can hear. Yes, I can create a private room and invite, but we're talking convienent issues. It would simply be alot easier to invite those outside the PA into our guild channel rather than inviting everyone into a private room, especialy one as large as ours. Even through scripting methods, it'salot of names to juggle.
I guess I can't really ask for anything else at the moment because I'm unclear on how the Devs see the system. Currently, it's just a communication tool. However, when described pre-release, it was viewed in another manner. For example there were competitive ladders etc.
Thanks
