Thread: 'Leader hasn't logged in' Bug?
It happened the same to me when i was trying to be elected, every time i registered myself and people voted to me, the "old" and non active leader was elected. I think is the same bug. I had to register and vote in all my guild terminals... and it worked.
Im waiting to see if this bugs can be fixed by disabling the elections in all the terminal. I will report it when i can confirm that.

ok, i think we have a new problem here. I disabled the elections yesterday and they just went and abled themselves again. Now its like an everyday thing going back and forth turning them off. Is this happening to anyone else?
Yes, it is.
After having logged in almost daily since the launch of RotW, elections enabled themselves and sent out an e-mail on Wednesday. I logged in and disabled them.
Then they enabled themselves on Thursday. I logged in and disabled them.
Then, they enabled themselves on Friday. I logged in and disabled them.
I kinda feel like the old Animaniacs framing sequence:
Yakko (as doctor at press conference): "Wakko came to us with a pain in his ear. We found a cartoon. We took it out. Then, he had a pain in his eye. We found another cartoon. We took it out. Finally, he had a pain in his throat. We found yet another cartoon. We took it out. How are you feeling now, Wakko?"
Wakko: "My fanny hurts."
Yakko (blows kiss): "Mmmmwa! Good night, everybody!"
Try my suggestion of letting them run for a week then turning them off. You won't get the email every day if they run and they will not complete in a week. It takes a full 14 days so you could let it run for 12 or 13 if you wanted to and then turned them off to avoid all the spam. I'm letting mine run and haven't got the email since. Annoying? Yes. But it's a work around to avoid the spam until its fixed.
I think I understand what's happening here.
I've noticed that these "Your leader hasn't logged on..." messages and the elections start only when the server is reset or taken down for a publish update. I think what's happening is that the server is *not* saving a crucial bit of information during the server shutdown process; the time/date of the leader's last logon.
Further, the election code is tied to individual guildhalls, meaning a guild with multiple guildhalls will have multiple elections started, one for each guildhall. My guild has, apparently, 3 different guildhalls. On the two I can locate, I can turn off the elections. On the third one, the election is doubtless still running.
What the consequences will be for the guild re: the third guildhall's elections is as yet unknown. I'm hoping that turning the elections off on the other two will also 'disable' the third one or at least make its results invalid.

It won't effect the guild. Simply make sure to turn off the elections if they were turned on and send out a guild wide email saying that it was a bug that sent out that email. This is more of an annoyance than anything. I passed it on though as a bug to make sure it gets fixed.
This happened to me as well. The first one happened on the 10th of May, while I was on line.
I submitted a ticket, and was told to turn off the elections at the guild terminal, which I did.
The next day it did it again.
I've not canceled these elections yet to save myself a daily run to the GH and a bunch of e-mails. I sent out a guild mail to let everyone know it was a bug and I'd cancel the elections once a week till it is fixed.

Just wanted to add some details on our version of this bug.
Our originalGL transfered guild leadership to our new leader when the new leadership transfer system went into effect. We had started the old process of resetting allegiance but didn't get enough people to do it before the new system was started. I noticed that on the guild info tab on the terminal it still said theoriginal GLwas our GL although looking on the member list tab, the new leader was identifiedas the leader.
We got the emails about our GL being away too long, referring to our original GL, not the new one, and an election started I guess about the time most other people did. Well no one ever registered to run in the election and last week we got the notice that the election had ended and our original GL had be re-elected. A day or two later we got emails that our original GL hadn't logged in so an election was started. This time our new GL has registered and anumber of people have voted already so we'll see what happens this time.

Do you have multiple guild halls? If so, that could be a reason for the extra email.

Yes...good call. I'm going to have to put an end to the election anyway since the first one started almost two weeks ago and the second election started two days ago.
