Ok, thanks a lot. I would be very dissapointed if I lost my guild. What happens if I need to take a vacation over the summer? Is there anyway I can keep my guild or should I transfer it to another leader until my return?

If you're going to be gone more than 30 days without logging in even once I'd probably transfer it to another member temporarily.

Our election started

Did it actually start and allow people to register to run or did it just say it did in the email? Because I got the email for my own guild that said they started but they didn't ever enable. I went to the PA Hall to disable them and they were off. I even enabled and turned them back off to check.

Twice in about 48hours. I had to disable elections both times

Bugged on Ahazi also. I turn it off and then next time I log in the message has been sent out.

The PA Hall belongs to someone who is on very infrequently. The PA Hall owner was never the PA Leader. The PA Leader has been on an extended LOA and transferred the Leadership to me (when that option became available). The other day I got the infamous email saying I was away for an extended period of time.

When I look at the Guild Information it clearly shows that I am the Guild Leader

When I saw the email I came here figuring this was a bug associated with the ability to transfer Lead and saw this thread. As recommended I turned off elections and sent out an email to the guild saying it was a bug. The next day another email came out saying I have been away for an extended period of time.

I suspect the trigger for opening elections and sending that email is incorrectly identifying the guild leader as the owner of the PA Hall. Whenever that trigger is activated it opens elections (even if it had been closed before) which makes sense because if a PA leader vanishes without opening elections clearly leadership could never be transferred.

That may be one possible cause, but this is happening to virtually all guilds, including my own and my character owns the Guild Hall and the emails are still being sent out. So it isn't the only cause. It's just sending these out for all guilds by default for some reason.

2nd day it's happened for me too. Looks like I have to do this every day until they decide to fix it. And, of COURSE, it starts up just as my friend comes to visit for a vacation, limiting my login time.

Disabled the elections yesturday, log in today and they are back but I can't disable them.

We have a number of halls in the Guild, none of which belong to the Guildleader toon.

So if we have to run these elections, which hall will it steal and give to the new Guildleader at the end ?

Can/will the CSRs disable the elections from there end if asked to ?

If we ignore the elections and no one stands, what happens at the end of the 2 weeks ? Will the system disband the guild ?

Why if they know about this issue have the DEVs/CSRs not sent a system email to all guildleaders in game warning them of the issue and letting them know what to do about it ?

I support giving the DEVs a break .... now taking votes on arm or leg ?

You guys can try to just let the elections run for about a week so they don't keep starting on their own. *Note: Elections take 2 weeks. Disable them after one week and they still won't complete and that should stop the emails for a week I would think.

This happened to our guild two days ago, I didn't disable the elections, just sent out an email and asked people to vote so at the end of the two weeks everything would be taken care of. But yesterday i got an email "election has ended and the incumbent leader if victorious" email. After three days? Something is out of wack. The elections ended after a few days not weeks. Just thought i'd throw out our experiences with the bug.

It just happened to my guild again, so the hunt for a workaround is still on.

Our guild leader turned them off yesterday and when I logged on today they had started back up again.

Rothin,

We got the email less than a week after I transferred leadership of our guild to a fellow member in case I had to make an unannounced break again. Got affected by the inactive bug, my guildmate did not Disable the elections, snd after a few Days we got an email saying that the incumbent(read: ME) has won the election, and I was given the leader title again.

Even though I did transfer this role to another guildmate, which I can confirm because I lost ALL guild priveledges, it reverted leadership back to me.
