I understand the whole roleplaying part and I think I am echoing a couple posts here but I am saying no for the following reasons:

1) You joined a guild to be part of that group and should be proud of it. If the guild is mixed faction as an Imperial I only know they are or arent Imperial..they could be neutral or Rebel but Idont know for sure. If you are hiding your affiliation than what exactly is the point of having that affiliation.

2) Hiding a guildtag also has the issue of adding to the GTEF problem in PvP. I know if I shuttle in and see one overt and 6 other of his guild or a guild with ties to the overts guild in town..I at least know the GTEF is coming. Now if they can hide the tag and GTEF then you are just asking for more grief here.

3) Limit use by race here. On various servers there are Wookie only guilds aligned to either Imp or Reb or both. So say I as a Zabrak I could hide my guild tag(which I would never do) but it wouldnt work in cases for these Wookies because we can already know/assume the faction and pinpoint the guild.

4) Creates issues for the guild to control the conduct of its members, deal with C of C violations, and keep an honest name in the community. The community would have no way to pursue an acanue to report misconduct and have it dealt with except by griefing.

I wear my letters with pride. If you don't want to wear letters, don't join a PA. I chalk this up to being the latest example of many players' infantile desire to want to change game mechanics just to avoid potential conflict.
