I thought about this but didn;t mention it becuase there are two easy ways to prevent this. One is to join a group. If you are already in a group, invites don't count. Second, if you add someone to your ignore list, it should automatically reject group invite requests.

Ya here's the obvious problem, griefing another player with an /invite macro from across the galaxy... so a /tell works from one planet to another, why not an /invite?

Yes, we did. It wasn't technically possible and was causing a lot of other issues to come up so they took it back out for now and increased the range to invite to 90 meters.
I was personally very much looking forward to it because it would have allowed for you to have a Guild group all the time with the members who were on. I hope we eventually see it again.

This is true, but I personally don't want to remove all access to group invites just because one person is harassing me. But it is an alternative. Does anyone know if putting someone on your ignore list prevents group invites from that person?

There is also an option you can set to auto reject invitations and couldturn it on when you don't want to group with anyone.

It did last time I checked. It prevented all communications from that person, including the group invites, emails, tells, etc.. I don't think that's been changed.

Then griefing isn't an issue with galaxy wide group invites.

Galaxy wide group invites allow for a form of "griefing".
Think about al those freaking buff bots around the galaxy that just autojoin groups.
One single player can have them all joined, play a song like western a buff bot never took the time to learn and prevent bots from plying music.

They should learn to say things like that.. Would make them a whole LOT clearer
