I believe to leave them the way they are would leave them entirely useless and barren, an eyesore. The best option would be choice, when setting up the format of a guild hall, you should specify the functionality of aspects such as that, whether it would be a landingbay, for several ships, or decorateable for parties, or even to be covered, and made into a second story large room..
I truly believe guild halls should offer more variety in choice. I truly beleive when placing a hall, it shouldny be a generic basement, balcony, emptyspace guildhall, but should allow you to specifcy if its primarily underground, or primarily above ground, whether its two stories, three stories, or four stories.. And I believe that the type of inside walls, and and texture should be selectible. Do i want a pretty naboo guild hall, or a submerged metalic rebel base? With the same guild hall standard.. Its difficult to seperate the two..

That would be an interesting thought.. What if you could put some acquatic animals in it like some sort of cannibalistic dolphin habitat?

My idea also involves guild wars. The empty area on the guild hallshould be equipable with turret controls with guns on the outside of the wall (Max of 4 on each side). NOT the little factional ones that self target, I'm talkin about placing flamethrowers, rocket launchers, Ion blasters, turbo-lasers, composite beams (clone gunship ball turret gun),anything that equips to a starship that shoots when a capacitor is also loaded, advanced warning sensors to show enemy guild members within a certain range of the hall (when more than 2 enemy guilders approach an alarm will sound calling defenders), ect.that would all be completely human manned, NO NPCS! ONLY PLAYERS IN THE TURRETS! Once a player enters a turret they get the same 1st personveiw as if they where in the turret in a starship. That way guild wars could be ended by a succesful invasion of an enemy hall on a set attack date. Invasions could work like capturing command posts in Star Wars: Battlefront, but have the building made public on an attack and the command post be in the back of the guildhall. With manned turrets as a defence getting rid of vermin (both sentient and non-sentient) surrounding the hall would be easier. Special turret only items would have different occurance rates, ion blasters would be most common and the weakest (chance to recive in loot, 1/100), composite beams and othersuper heavy gunsthe rarest and most devastating (chance to recive in loot, 1/600). Starbases should be made available from factional recruiters.

Certain city based items can be placed on the rooftops of guildhalls such as Statues, streetlights, terminals and I assume trainers. Problem with a Naboo style PA Hall is that if you want the statues to be seen from the ground you have to place the largest one there are and then still the wall goes halfway up the statue itself, would be cool if the base of the statue was tall enough that it looked like the statue was standing on the top of the wall instead of behind it.

I think the reason they don't let you do this is because it would be hard to limit how many things you put on your roof, plus it conflicts with the "no dropping stuff outside of buildings rule".

Two serious problems. 1. Storage for decorating purposes. 2. Being able to place things on the houses lot. They should let us put things outside as long as it is on the house lot. Maybe even have houses that have an extra lot for outdoor stuff.

Our guild have 3 guild halls, all part of our lore.
But we have a Dojo, and it would be so good looking to have some gongs, plants, torches and stuff put up on the roof
I would like to add that it would be nice if there was a glass dome over it all. Or a shield thingy. So it is indoors but it can altso be outdoors.
Imagine a ranger guild with a small forest up there

Well...There are very evil things you can do to people once they are on top of a guildhall roof...But I have no intent of mentioning them.

Back in the old days, jedi used to use the roof tops on private PA halls as a safe place to duel.
I wouls LOVE to see furniture and such be placed on roofs
