Thread: Hiding the Guild Tag Is this possible?
I would prefer that guild tags be invisible to all but guild members by default and having the ability to turn it ON for the publicbe a permission set at the guild management terminal. This is a game based around a Galactic Civil War and I have to agree with the previous posts that too much information is already available at a glance.
I think that guild members should be able to see your name, tag, and title floating over your head.
As a guild leader I would have no problem allowing my guild members to toggle their guild tag. Like someone else said I would want it to stay in that someone could do a /guildstatus if they had aproblem. I too think that we already have to much information showing. I HATE that people know what I mastered just by examining me. All badges received should be toggelable IMHO but that is neither here nor there in the PA forums. Sorry to rant here.
This ties into the GCW also. Hiding a guild tag known to be rebel goes a long way to adding to a person's "covertness".
Please make this happen. This was great to have in EQ, we could just do /anon and nothing showed but our name. Please, please?
Question:
If someone can just /guildstatus and get the information, then does this decrease the effectiveness of being able to hide the guildtag for those PAs that want to have a group acting as spies???

Good question Jas, unfortunatly not one I myself can really answer as I don't have spies (that I know of) in my guild. I don't see it being to big a problem as most people don't think to do a /guildstatus. The only reason why I wouldn't say just take it out all together is for the fact that people are concerned with greifing. though perhaps it (the griefing tag)shouldn't be tied to the guild but to the person doing the greifing. So maybe it doesn't matter after all?
To help with the theme of my guild, I would prefer to have the option of allowing members to toggle it on or off. Some of us are roleplayers and we follow a nice structure and one of our divisions would love the option to go 'undercover' so to say by toggling it off, but I wouldn't want everyone to be able to do it at all or it would defeat the purpose. I say let the leader make it a permission setting. ![]()
