I would like to inform you that it is possible that members of the guild voted for the old leader. He may be a default canidate. Hope this helps. We wish you all the best."the only things on the ballots was my char's name and abstain. when i checked after server up on friday i had a few votes and as people logged on they also were finally able to vote for me. the last person to vote before the elections were done stated that he only had the 2 options as well.
Same thing here, our leader hasn't been on for ages and it triggered an election, and we voted for the new leader, and the old MIA leader won, ROFL...way to code SOE /golfclap
So our guild is still in limbo

Mostof our active members voted for one member to take over the leadership of guild but how it says the leader we wanted out retains his office. Is this a bug or should all active accounts be the only ones able to vote?

The only votes that are cast count and only those who run for leadership are eligible so the old leader if hes inactive (Which you said he was) wouldn't even be eligible for membership again.
Can you copy the exact wording of the email here for me please?

We are having the same problem on the Chilastra server. The email we received was "The elections for**** have been held. The incumbent guild leader is victorious! Please congradulate**** on retaining thier office.

Rothin, this has happened to my guild on Chilastra as well.
What seems to be happening is that the old "allegiance" system is transferred directly as votes for the old leader, despite the old leader not a) being active or b) being registered to run. These "set allegiance" votes from the old system are not registered openly by the new system, but rather are 'hidden' votes for the old leader.
Incidentally, it seems players newly introduced to the guild can vote, even though the election appears to be over and the guild terminals locked (in error, but locked nonetheless).

The old leader also holds leadership if the election is tied, which is not supposed to happen either. I'm passing along the information, so please continue to provide anything you can think of.

Our guild leader is also in active, so he didn't run in the election. Only one person ran for the open leadership position and recieved quite a number of votes. We recieved the email 3 times, which I'm assuming correlates to our 3 different guild halls.

Here's the email I recieved.Since I didn't askif it was ok to use the persons name I decided to pull it out.He would probably be ok with it but just to be safe.
The elections for<Clan name>have been held. The incumbent guild leader is victorious! Please congratulate<player name>on retaining their office.
The voting system will now be disabled. The new leader can enable it if they wish to run new elections.

one of our guildies just got a response from a csr. it states "thank you for sending in a ticket about changing your guildleader, im afraid the feature didn't make it into the live game, though once that feature is put in you should be able to do as you guys are trying to do."

Well it must have because I checked everytime I was on to attempt to vote. Then I was allowed to vote. Now this happens and is says basically we have to wait another 30 days.
