Thread: We want a Guild Email system!

Seriously, in the manual that was shipped with the game it clearly states that an email can be sent to everyone from the guild hall terminal.

This simply isn't true. Currently the only way to send an email to all your guild members is to put each one on your friends list, select all, then email. It's very confusing, especially if someone leaves the guild and you for some reason don't know about it and keep sending them guild emails.

Guild email went in with the mount patch. Simply put the word guild in the To field. If it doesn't work, you may need to ask your PA Leader to give you permission on the Guild Terminal to send out guild email. If it *still* doesn't work let me know. I am entirely able to send guild emails to all of my members but I wouldn't totally discount the possibility of some bug.

Hmm thankyou

So I don't need admin rights to the guild hall terminal? I just type up a regular email and put in the field "guild:xxx"

Don't put anything after the word guild. JUST guildperiod. Erm, no period either.

It works for me, but you don't have to use the guild terminal. Simply put "Guild" in the To: line in a regular email. I've used it several times, and everyone in my guild has recieved it. I don't think it went out in any publish notes, so alot of people think the feature still dosen't work.

For those of you who are also mayor of cities typing "citizens" in the TO: line works the same way.. although it seems only the Mayor has that ability, however it can be useful.

I'm a little disappointed that I need 'permission' to send a guild e-mail. I would think it would be something all guild members could use.

Cloudgatherer, ideallythe permissions would be set by rank by the PA Leader. So, if they wanted to a PA Leader *could* alloweveryone to use guild mail without doing individual settings. However, I feel it is important when implementing guild features to always leave the power to decide in the hands of the PA Leader. We all want to manage our guilds differently.Guilds with a huge number of members (hundreds) could easily drive members away due to the spam factor if everyone was using guild mail indescriminately.

It's become standard ritual for me to enable sponsor and guild email to all new members as I accept them. But, I do have mention in my new member welcome mail to use the mail system responsibly, and not to spam... or I can certainly revoke mail priveleges for abusers. And thusfar, I've had no problems to date with this system.
