I am just wondering...I now have the skill to use it, but either I don't see what the big deal is, or I am not using it correctly. Can someone explain to me how to go about using this correctly? Thanks.

Fanshot is a cone effect attack so it should be hitting several targests infront of you at once. It also has a fairly nice damage mod and speed mod. It is probably the best special you can use for leveling purposes.

Fanshot is the great leveller shot.
Very fast and hits multiple targets.

its your best choice for multiple targets that are standing together as its a cone shot. so use it on lairs from wayout.
Dont use it in dungeons like corvette or geo caves as it will aggro all stuff in the cone - even if its in another room.

Yep it's great for killing a bunch of stuff at once. Gotta line yourself up to hit the most possible with one shot but you gotta stay at range otherwise they can go outside of the cone. Used right, this is a great shot.

when I get bored, I get buffed, put on my comp armor and fly into the imperial outpost on talus. There are usually
anywhere from 20-40 Stormtroopers just walking back and forth at any given time. I'llsip some brandy and chomp
some synthsteak, then stand back about 40m from the masses. Pull out my DE-10, pick one in the middle, and after
about 2 minutes using fanshot suddenly there are dead bodies everywhere and I go on a loot frenzy. I have watched my
guildies mouths literally drop after they seen me do that. I must say that pistoleer is not uber in PVP and high end PVE, but
it does very well in mid-level PVE crowds. If it wasn't for fanshot, I wouldn't still be playing SWG. I love my fanshot.
You'll come to love it too, at least for the next 2 weeks or so. After that, who knows.

well let me put it this way, i was almost a master and i needed 900k xp to master, i went to the squill caves to start the final grind, with fanshot i was able to get almost 30 squills chasing me, with my pikeman buddy tanking for me, i earned all 900k in 2 hours, so thats why its great, plus it fires fast and does some pretty decent damage

Well thanks for the answers guys...I tried this shot out at a faction base next to our town not too long ago and it seemed to pull like every faction npc to me though. That's why I ask why you all think it's so great. I must of had 30 faction npcs on me at once and ended up having to run away because they were just a little bit overwhelming. So do I keep using that same shot over and over or do I use it once to pull them to me and then switch to another kind of special shot?

if you have 30+ guys on you then keep using fan shot, will kill them many times faster then switching to a single target special.

It is great for Kiting too, i love to go find stuff that is social aggro, plink one and start running, they chase you spam fan shot, they all die, you never get hit.

with the way fanshot is in game those 30 guys could have been handled so long as you were kiting them and spamming fanshot. i've done that before. first time i kind of panic and wanted to run away but once you start kiting them it works like a charm.
