When are the devs going to make Pistoleer worth it. I mean shouldn't we be faster then a rifler or a carbine person?

Who knows, we get +74 speed where riflemen get +90 ... should really be the other way around.

these posts are becoming like the "R we getn duel weild NE time s00n?!?! i want 2 no!!"

please stop making yourself look dumb, it's been common knowledge that most of the professions are unbalanced with each other, that's why they decided to start a combat rebalance in the first place

sure, it's taking a while, but i'd rather them get it right (or at least mostly right) the FIRST TIME

I'm sorry that some of us are not up to speed like you. I was just curious. I believe some parts of this forum is to ask questions. If I missed the post sorry. You don't have to answer if you think my post is stupid. Just ignore it.

I personally think pistoleer is worth it. The thing that some people miss is that this game was never developed for a solo experience. It was designed as a group adventure. As a member in a group pistoleers are extremely valuable. They have great defenses and have enough skill points to master a useful profession such as creature handler, squad leader, doctor, combat medic, ranger. So as only a sole pistoleer (which you willbe shooting at the speed cap with a well made pistol unsliced) you may not see the advantageous of it compared to a rifleman/tkm blend. But hardly anyone in this game stops with one mastery. It would be nice to see how a single combat master fairs against another single combat master. I bet many would be surprised how well a pistoleer does in that situation, especially if buffs and armor were excluded.

But wait for the comabt balance, I am sure there will then be many changes (some good some bad) that will address what ever you feel is lacking in this profession to your personal play style, as I am sure we all have a different view on how the game and the pistoleer profession shouldbe played.

I personally feel this profession is great as is (yes more damage would be nice, but at least all of our specials and weapons work, and every profession has redundant specials, even teh almighty swordsman and rifleman). I would like to see speed cap changed (Pistol/fencer/TKA 1.0, Carbineer/Pikeman 2.0, Rifleman/Swordsman 3.0) and I would like to see everyones accuracy plumet, sothat combat is more like the movies (amazing how long they keep missing each other).

i'm not saying you were or are stupid.... i'm just saying that if you took the time to read five posts you would probably find your answer.............

it is posted 8 million times a day, just like the dual wield questions...... i said don't make yourself LOOK stupid by posting something that's asked multiple times daily

It pains me to do this, but I have to point out the blatant flaw in this claim. While our specialist defence, dodge is handy we need air cake to bring it up to a useful level, that or stack fencer. Our status defence is great, can't beat it. But our basic defence is laughed at by a rifleman, as pistoleers we're supposed to be melee fighters but with guns, why does the sniper have more melee defence? And as for mastering other useful professions, the rifleman and carbineer can master everything we can, which sort of makes pistoleer irrelevant as long as the marksmen remain unbalanced.

All about waiting for this combat rebalance thing the devs keep talking about, apparantly it'll make each and every profession equal in ability to every other, while I remain among the sceptical but I eagerly await what the devs claim will happen.

I'd have to disagree with this also. Just about every combat profession can master another profession as well.

I'd also like to take your idea of just a plain master pistoleer against another plain master of another combat profession and see what happens. Pistoleer will likely lose to everyone. Reason being, our damage is one of the lowest of them all and just about everyone else can shoot as fast as we can.

As far as beingan asset to groups? Anything worth taking in a large group has medium armor and high resists to every damage type we can dish out. I feel useless in a group doing such small damage. And, despite our "good" defenses, we still get beaten down pretty quick.

I dont think that is true. I was recently at the Geo caves and i grouped with a TK Master and although he could take the stuff i was helping him with alone, there was a reasonable increase in the time it took for us to take the oponent down. I personally wish that the game was more like it was at release where u had to group to take down something too hard for u. Not how it is now where if something is too hard for u u go "o **edit** i better go get buffs and food and armor." Its boring to solo it is way more fun to fight in a group and pistoleer does play a worth while role in group hunting.

At last check we have 2 out of 12 specials that work properly. 5 are redundant but work. 5 are totally broken. That info is from our sticky.

Carbineers have most of their specials working the way their supposed to. They only have two or so broken ones and two or so redundant ones. Plus they have more specials total. For the exact numbers on that, check out the sticky on the carbineer forums.

Riflemen have a much better broken specials to working ones, too. I haven't seen a breakdown of theirs, but my rifleman buddies tell me that life is really good for their specials.

Pistoleers are definitly in the lacking and as an elite combat class I have a lot of difficulty versus high end creatures. One the corvette where space is limited pistoleers are not welcome unless there is extra space. It has happened several times now. I like the instanced dungeon quite a bit, but when I cant find a spot because they want another BH, Commando or CM because I dont possess enough combat ability to be useful something is wrong. Of course I can always go by myself but oyu know how that would go. We need to be just as viable as any other combat class.
