Hi...
I am kind of new to pistoleer (1-1-1-1) and i was wondering how i could level faster. With many other proffesions there are "Hot Spots" where you can nearly master the proffesion in one day. (i.e. CH...Geo Caves) Is there a Hot Spot for pistoleer and if not...how do i master this proffesion quickly?

Well...first of all - I think you'll find grinding pistol exp easier if you go
004x
044x
rather than starting off 1111....
Other than that, Im not sure of "hotspots" I started off doing Bolle Bol missions on naboo, then moved onto Crimson blurrgs/Hanadaks/blurrgs and gurrecks on endor - and occasionally fambaa's on Naboo, when i had fanshot - I also visited Yavin and did some kliknik missions from there
To pull the more difficult missions (fambaa's, blurrgs etc) you'll probably need to join a solo group. If thats not really possible, then you can still get pretty decent exp missions on endor without a group.
Hope this helps....if not, im sure someone else will help out.

well if u have BH 0/0/4/0 at least for the BH pistol skills, you can go to Dantooine, solo group and take graul maulers. I noticed that the bigger the group the more they spawn as well. I get 4950-5050XP per, each trip of two missions land me over 100k XP. I have Master BH and just use my scatter pistol and I work up the trees fairly quickly. Id imagine their are other ways but this is the way I use.

Im not sure exactly what kind of HAM / resists graul maulers have to be honest, it's been a long time since i played (just come back after a long break heh) but just a note in general for the other guy....often finding the biggest toughest creatures you can do is not the best way to get exp..... fambaa's and blurrg's give the same exp as graul maulers, and i imagine (but can't confirm) that their easier to kill.
The other thing to remember is that you get a bonus to your exp if you're in a group, so if possible, try to be in a group, even if you're on your own when fighting.

Get out and grind instead of checking the forums every 10 seconds for an update

The biggest question, that people here are not asking because they assume they know the answer, is:
Do you get huge Doctor buffs when you go out hunting?
If yes, then go with the techniques line, and get your big specials, then spam them like there's no tomorrow and you'll kill mobs very quickly. This will wear down your weapons VERY quickly, however, so make sure you have a back-up piece (or two or three).
If no, then you may want to go up the accuracy line first, especially if you're the type to pull a mob from a lair with a health shot and then just stand and tank it while you fire normally (without using any specials).
Personally, I did what everyone suggested, and I worked up through the techniques line first, but I never use Doctor buffs when I hunt (only Power Boost), so I never spam specials at anything unless it will save my life faster than it will kill me. I typically only use specials to inflict states on the mob, and once the state sticks, I stop using the special. The problem with Pistoleer is, NONE of their attacks inflict any states (other than knockdown and bleed), so I pretty much wasted my time getting specials that I rarely use. For my playstyle, the accuracy line would probably have been much more useful to me, or maybe even the dodge line.
One other way you could do it, and from the looks of it you're already doing it that way, is to just go up all four lines in parallel. Take the accuracy box, then the special box, then the dodge box, then go with accuracy again and keep cycling through them all until you reach master.
Short and sweet: if you use huge Doctor buffs every time you hunt, take techniques and spam specials to burn through mobs like crazy, but if you're a "purist" who hates how Doctor buffs have trivialized the already dysfunctional combat system
then accuracy should probably be your primary focus.

I find a solo group on dant, go to quenker lairs with a grind pistol (krayt scatter for me) and run a point blank area macro. U can go away, get something to eat, come down, and there will be a pile of about 20 dead quenkers there. Very easy stuff.

well Relifex, I use Maulers because I dont like getting diseased/poisoned by the likes of say a voritor lizard. So I take these guys on, I believe they have from 9k-11k HAM, and have vulnerabilty to acid(my scatter pistol) and Stun (my GEO pistol) soo these creatures I can take down while getting agroed by 5 at a time with only a half decayed chest plate with a transport suit on underneath and my nifty raiden style hat. But getting a huge solo group is where its at. I noticed that I got a mission with only a four man group, about 7 total grauls came out. Then in a full groups i get at least 12. I will master pistoleer with just one more buff. I am a casual gamer too since I cant find much time to play it, and I can log in for an hour and get a skill box soo Im happy. Yesterday I was on for about 1hr 15m and recieved over 400k XP. I also kill some stuff in the surrounding area waiting for respawns.

My advice.
Play it, don't grind it.
This goes for any profession, but we are talking combat. If you master a combat profession in a day or two you will know jack crap about it, it's strengths weeknesses, how to use it etc. Even though a lot of pistoleer is broken and only a few specials are useful, everything has it's purpose and uses. Yea OK you're master, but can you actually fight? I see to many people running around fully buffed and grinding out combat professions. At master they have no clue what they are doing, what to do, or how to fight with "that" profession.
Go do some PvE unbuffed that is around your level, and learn to fight.

ALMOST got it
use healshot2 till you can get fanshot. Then go tag huge groups of squills with your geo pistol and just keep running. You will beat them down with a geo pistol fairly quickly and stay a step ahead. just keep running lol. if you start to get a little bit of a beatdown. stop spamming fanshot and spam healthshot2 til they are all dead. (this will keep more from agroing on you.)

to start out, dantooine is the best place to get 0040 pistoleer... do quenker missions until you get fanshot, once you have fanshot, join some solo groups and i would probably say jantas for xp and some nice cash on the side
