I picked up Pistoleer when they freed up points for Bounty Hunters... so I had a considerable amount of Pistol XP accumulated and started out as 0-0-2-1. Having the Geno pistol and "Pistol Whip" made accumulating pistol xp very easy!

My recommendation, as others have said - max out Techniques first, after you have that, then work up Grips, and finally Marksmanship. Work on Stances as combat xp permitsfor the melee defense bonuses and close-quarters KD. However, if you don't have pistol accuracy bonuses etc from another profession, you might want to to Marksmanship before Grips.

As for where to hunt and what to kill? I get buffed, put on some 75% kinetic ubese and go to Dantooine. Get in a solo group and do Mokk or Janta missions in a city that has Improved Job Center for higher payouts. I can work through about 5 missions per hour, each one nets me about 30k in cash and 20k xp. You could probably master Pistoleer this way in a weekend if you really worked at it - not to mention making several million credits in the process (which you might need to buy a good DE-10)

Get A Geno

Go to endor with doc buffs brandy and good ubeese. Spam health 1 on handacks and blurg. You will level in 1 day.

Buff and go tot the squil cave and bringa geoblaster. While u are there, talk to the hermit.
