Thread: Why you became a pistoleer.
I am a Master Pistoleer and Expert BH, as many are on the Ahazi server and for some reason you guys havent caught on to yet. hmm ill post that in another rant after this one.
I was reading posts recently. Seeing if there was anyway i was gunna get to keap my mob bashin DSII. Which i have bean known to use to 'sadly' murder large armies of rebels. But is also my most useful move for leveling my friends.
Then i came across a post, from some dude whos name I'm not gunna go look up cuzz that would take to long, saying that he didnt go pistoleer for one uber move he went because that is what he wanted to do. Then I thaught back to just why I had chosen pistoleer in the first place. My reason had bean in any game i ever played i liked to be the fastest mofo i could be, and when i counted up the speed bonuss in teh classes pistoleer with expert Bh won, not alot over carbine, but enough. I also didnt choose carbine because i have no idea what one is. Now more to the point, why would i want to be fast, simple because i think the fastest cahr should not be able to do insane dmg, but should be able to do alot more, and at the same time be hit by alot less shots. I even made my character a tinny little tradoshan so he would look faster.
Here's the problem with all my planning. Once I had attained my goal, which i did very quickly because I played AC and if you ever got near that nightmare youmust know how to pwr lvl, I realized that this game wasnt a balanced system off rock paper sizzorz, it was a game of who could land their power bomb of a move first. their is no balance. their is no speed. If you take a real look at it ther is barely even a game. woops lost my place their back to constructive ideas, that SOE wouldnt know if it bit them on the *edit*....there i go again.
Point is dont nerf, just balance, do not remove existing components. Add new ones, or implementing existing ones, to balance things out. Such as dont put insane costs and timers and delays on the end all moves, simply add the defenses so they can be dealt with. Don't nerf KD, implement KD defense. Don't nerf Smugglers sweet moves, add dodge, block, and counterattack so they wont land as often. That is why the smugglers dont have bonuss to there pistol skills(but mayby should) so they ahve insane moves, but not a good chance to land. Also remember smuggler is not a combat line it is a roleplaying line. That neads fixed.
It would also be nice if speed were changed so all elements were affective. currently speed caps out at 100, and once you have that any wepaon under 2.5 or so is as fast as is neaded. So what if weapons speed and bonus speed both helped. so my 129 speed actually made me alot faster than 100 speed, and if i had a 1.0 speed scout rather than a 2.2 speed scatter there really would be a difference with that too. one of my thaught with this was what if advanced speed bonuss and weapon speeds didnt make you shoot faster tehy just shortened delay times on moves. Making BS 3 useful. And with max speed and a max speed weapon you could fire any shot just as fast as normal attack. Seams insane right? but it makes sense when you thina bout it. a master pistoleer has done those moves a million times, they know how to do them jsut as easy as there normal attack and just as fast.
Only other thing i want changed is i was PW I swapped with PW II, the way it stands now it is next on nerf list right after Fire KD shot, and i dont want it on a nerf list at all.
This was a very long post, so long even i probably would not have read it. People dont like long posts with whith things like reasoning involved they like lists. So here is a list.
1. Implement Defenses
2. Make speed a greater factor
3. Stop nerfing!
4. Swap PW 1 with PW 2
Yep thats about it. Flame or Cheer I dont care I've bean wanting to post this for the past 2 weeks since i hit master just didn't have time till now.

i took up pistoleer from the start just because i wanted a pistol as my main weapon, seemed the most logical for a combination of city and open field fighting. i won't give up pistoleer no matter how much they nerf it, i'm still on my way to master but not giving up.
i use to be a master CH, but sadly dropped it after the absurd changes to the profession, they may have been needed, but they changed the class too much for me. at least wiht pistoleer i can still use my pistol...they can't take that away, at least i hope not. i didn't take pistoleer for the specials, it would be nice to have some good ones but i have point left over after my medic skills, so i can always take on another profession for better pistol skills...how evey silly that is.

Fixing and improvement should be the focus for now, the only nerfing they should be doing at this point is eliminating exploits. I'm sure if they got the game 100% working, with all the defense bonuses and all that, they would be pleasantly surprised at how balanced the game would become, and would probably un-nerf most of the things they have nerfed.
I became a pistoleer because the game started me with a pistol. I shot that pistol till it broke.

I am going up the pistoleer tree because in general I like to play melee classes.
Melee classes in general are very broken right now. I went pistoleer because its the closest thing to melee thats not that broke yet (looks like it might be soon tho)
I choose pistoleer for two reasons, first, I love pistol's in RL and own many, so I'm drawn to them by nature. Second, I love the new cartoon Vash the Stampede, unfortunately, the name selection screen wouldn't let me use it
