Thread: Dual Pistols An elite-elite profession?

Hello All,

I've read many of the threads on the dream of having pistoleers becoming dual pistol weidling and I'm all for it. I'm not sure anyone has suggested this before, but I think it would be cool if this was added as an elite-elite Pistoleer profession. You wouldn't even be able to start down the dual-weilding path until you reach Master Pistoleer. Then in the new profession, you can have skill trees dedicated towards specials, increasing accuaracy of the second pistol, speed/defense, or lowering ham costs of using dual pistols. I think there should be a few specials dedicated toward dual pistol use, but the ham cost should be very high.

I also think this might address some of the issues us Pistoleers have with the BH having better specials and have similar pistol skill mods. Obviously, I think this would be very powerful, so I think the XP requirements (as well as mastering Pistoleer) should be very high and I also think having such a high requirment means that you won't see too many of them in game.

Well, what do you guys think? I just wanted to throw the idea out there and see what everyone thought about it.

the devs said they were considering on adding dual pistols and other stuff but they didnt tell us if theyll add it to the pistoleer profession so im guessing an elite-elite profession for the pistoleer.

I was thinking of what they might do for elite-elite professions and this is one that I think would be cool also.

i think that is a great idea. i mean we need an elite elite profession to set us aprat from everyone else. of course we the damage can't get much higher for us, or we will be invinsilbe so we should get more specials and the deul pistols should increse speed greatly.

I have never seen a Pistoleer use duel weapons in the star wars series.

Is there an example of this?

Just curious.

Jango was a BH.

He was good with a pistol because he was a BH.

I wanted examples of Pistoleers using two blasters.

If you watch ep 2 when jango was fighting at the end b4 he got his head cut off ... i would assume he used stopping shot on the charging big horned thing in the arena ... thats what i would consider stopping shot should be like. from my view jango was bh with some pistol skills .. not all but some

the only problem would be every pistoleer running around with dual pistols...it wouldnt be some elite thing that only a select few had

dont forget about the skill pt limit. to get an elite-elite pistoleer profession we'll need to sacrifice other professions like the BH did so itll be fair........i hope.

The biggest issue with dual pistols will be balancing it vs. the other combat professions. Doubling our firepower and not providing equivalent enhancements to the other combat classes isn't going to happen. In fact, I'd be very surprised if they ever implement it as part of the Pistoleer tree.

Making it an elite-elite profession ability makes it somewhat more palatable I suppose - given what you have to give up to get it. And in the interests of game balance, I wouldn't grant the ability until VERY high up the elite-elite tree. Its not something some guy should be able to obtain by spending 6 pts. to get Novice Elite-Elite.

Ciao.

I have spent many countless hours trying to plan my character out. I think elite - elite professions are a huge, mega ton of crap and I hope the stop doing this and concentrate on fixing the broken classes. I dont want to spend countless hours in front of the character builder trying to figure out what I am going to do again.

I really like this idea, elite-elite professions are something that should definately be in.
