Thread: Dual Pistols An elite-elite profession?
I saw in someone's signature something to the effect of:
BH...our weapon certs are broke.
Commando...our profession is broke.
Artisian...our factories are broke.
Pistoleer...I want a pony.
Now I'm a pistoleer too, and I think that duel wield, holstering moves and the like are a good idea. But given the status of other professions, and the real bugs contained within ours, this seems like a petty concern. The Devs have addressed these concerns, and not some of the more pressing ones.Granted, it was only "hey good idea, we'll look into it."But do we really need to distract the Devs at this point? This isn't intended as a flame, really. I would like to see these implemented someday. I just think we should band together and force the real concerns to the front of the Devs attention.

Actually, anyone with some pistol skill can dual-wield pistols. You may not be very fast, but it is accomplished easily enough. I think we could gain the dual-wield ability in the Pistol Special Abilities tree, as detailed below:
Dual-Wield: Single Opponent - Gained in Advanced Pistol Abilities. The pistoleer can fire both weapons at one opponent. To offset this, the pistoleer may not use any other special while two pistols are equipped, and the Pistoleer may suffer an additional-15 to hit. There are as of now, no special ability gained in this block.
Dual-Wield: Double Opponent - Gained in Master Pistol Abilities. The dual-wielding Pistoleer can target 2 opponents, say in a 45 degree arc in front of him, and fire one pistol at each target. The pistoleer may not use any other specials with this ability either, and may suffer an additional-25 to hit. There is also no special abilitiy gained in this block.
I hear ya Ridds. Just trying to reign in the horses before this thread stays at the top of the forums. Hmm...not that this reply is helping.

Just make it so you need an additional 3 million pistol xp and 1 million combat xp, then you can dual wield no problem with no additional penalties.
But they'll have to make elite-elite rifles too. When they had bolt-action rifles guys who used them for years could pull trigger with their pinky and move the action with their thumb. Soldiers who could do this were using bolt actions almost at the speed of semi-automatics. So the elite-elite for rifles could be a massive increase in their firing rate.
Maybe the elite-elite for Caribineers could be a carbine with a machine-gun rate of fire.
And the elite-elite for Bounty Hunters is easy - Jetpacks and the ability to fire while using them.

The elite-elite could be made to take one skill point. I'm almost master in ranger and pistoleer and I'll have 4 whole points left over. Yay. If they could be put to an elite-elite I'd start grinding away.

*I have never seen a Pistoleer use duel weapons in the star wars series*.
*Is there an example of this*?
You are correct, there is no such thing in the Starwars Universe, books, movies, about duel wielding Pistollers.
This is the type of requests when goings are good. Which is why HOLO needs to nerf this profession to the upper extreme.
Most of the people in agreement with this are Cowboot wearing Hillbillies. The rest are wannabe's who just got done watching the DVD Widescreen movie, TOMBSTONE
Headroll,
I resent what you said about people agreeing with this post essentially being a bunch of Western lovingHillbillies. I don'tlike Westerns, nor am I a Hillbilly. Couldn't it be possible that people like this idea becase it's fun? If you have nothing constructive to say, then don't say anything. What you said is very narrow-minded.
Saying there's no example of a dual pistol weilding pistoleer in the Star Wars universe is nit-picking. There are two examples of dual weild in the movies: Anakin and Jango. What does it matter what profession they where? Dual weilding is present in all role playing games and it's present in the Star Wars universe. If you really want to be nit-picky, then half the professions in SWG should exist because there's no mention of them. Where there really any true pistoleers, cabineers, or riflemen in the movies? Combat Medics? Do you see the point I'm making?
And mind you, this profession is not overpowered. I actually ditched Pistoleer over the weekend because of how bad I think all the specials and weapons are. I'm now unsure which combat profession to take as they all appear to be pretty screwed up. ![]()

Let me begin by stating that I am not even a "pistoller," so don't think I'm justtrying to defend my class or something here. To say that a profession needs to be nerfed simply because the members of that class have nothing to complain about is completely absurd. I mean, you're saying that because their class actually works as it was meant to, unlike most of the other combat professions, it needs to be broken? That's just ridiculous. How about focusing on fixing the other professions rather than breaking the ones that work and weakening everyone?
..."pistoller"...lol
worst idea ever, then we can go on and balance all combat classes out again -> u ever seen the matrix? Neo uses 2 carbine-type weapons too there at one point.....
if its like a drain 50 health/attack round and weapons getting heavily damaged maybe yes.... but still I'm not for the idea and I think we have to balance combat up and sure we all want our profession to be the best and having the sweetest things..............
